I think perhaps the full was the one Beatrix nearly brained Ty with - it was blowing around a lot on the roof and then when I checked later couldn't see it anywhere on the roof by the nest. Or perhaps she decided to take it off to their larder and dropped it where Dupre found it.

Yesterday afternoon, we were checking out the WW location and found Beatrix on the east sign. She seemed to be sitting a little differently than usual. I was thinking that if she were my cat, I would have said she looked sulky or guilty, then we found a whole dead gull in the middle of the parking lot. Looks like someone dropped dinner.

Beatrix is in the box giving them a bit of extra shelter from the cool and rain.  They are sprawled out on the gravel beneath her and she is napping as she stands over them with her back to the wind (not much wind right now).  Always nice to get a cuddle from Mom. :)

Inside of the nestbox remained dry during the last deluge in Winnipeg - chicks napping sprawled out are joined by Dad a few minutes later ...

TPC (and RCF for her help), thanks for posting the shot of the chicks. Nice to see how they are developing.

I took a drive into the area this evening about 6:30 and found both Beatrix and Ty away from the chicks, so I was fairly certain they were thermoregulating on their own. First I found Ty on the NE corner of the building with his back to me. Once he turned around he was relatively easy to identify with his white chest. Shortly afterward he was joined by Beatrix, not sure where she came from. Then Ty took off, closely followed by Beatrix (see first photo). They simply moved to the NW corner of the building (see second photo). Then Beatrix took off and Ty watched her leave (see third photo). Beatrix headed west and Ty moved out of sight on the roof.
