It is so cute to see both of them in the nest like that.  Smiley does seem to be a great provider.

Smiley is back, this time with food. He's watching Princess feed them, I hope he's taking notes.
( if she ever lets him have a turn  ::) )

Smiley just arrived without food, Princess got off the nest, Smiley tried to get on and she was having none of that. She went back to the nest and he flew away.
Still two chicks and two eggs.

7:55 pm, I just saw two chicks and 2 eggs. Both chicks are looking great, Princess is not leaving them and Smiley brings the food. All is well with the world.

Feeding time! :D

I saw two chicks and two eggs, but the sunlight was strong, so maybe others can confirm.

Smiley is now getting a turn on the chicks while Princess (most likely) finishes the meal.

Dad was back with another meal but was sent off again!! It would seem that his kids won't go hungry.  :) :)

This may sound like a silly question, but here goes anyway... are the females always the ones on the eggs when the chicks are hatching? ???

I couldn't say that males have never been on the eggs when hatching but that would be the exception to the rule I believe.

So maybe the recent hatching of a 3rd chick is the reason why Princess would not leave the chicks & let Smiley take over for awhile. :-\

At this stage the only reason she let's "dad" sit with the kids is when she needs to get out to do whatever lady peregrines need to do, then she's back and booting them out again  ;)  Won't last too long and Smiley seems very enthusiastic about helping out ...
