Princess needs to turn herself around so her tail is between the drain and the wall, that way she can't get tossed ...
Well, she has turned herself around a bit now, so she has "partially" heard your suggestion, TPC. ;)

Princess needs to turn herself around so her tail is between the drain and the wall, that way she can't get tossed ... her face would be in the wind but her no room for the wind to get under her tail.  But given how long she was stuck like that the last couple of days though, I can understand her not wanting to sit like that now ...

Gods, I hate this ledge, Princess just got tossed and the chicks went with her again.  She's got most of her charges back under her, but there is one escapee and I think perhaps the dead chick is over by the wall now (just out of camera range) but I'm not sure.  It would be nice if the wind clocked a bit to the west, that would make a huge difference on the ledge ...

Ivy really is a very attentive dad. Reminds me a lot of his dad, Trey, in that regard. He sure is a good "provider", even if he is "a ladies man". ;)

Yup, every year the "men" have to re-learn how to get all the kids tucked under ... fortunately they catch on quick  ::)

Ivy was having trouble getting his two chicks under him after they ate, Princess is likely off to have a rest and a preen before returning ... generally she isn't gone long when the chicks are this young.

Yup, didn't take her long (about 90 seconds) to return and physically push Ivy off the chicks (he really didn't want to go).  She'll preen later I guess ...  :D

I only saw 1 chick being fed when I returned to my computer a few minutes ago. Thanks for posting that you saw 2 chicks being fed, Baffled. :-* I was beginning to get concerned about the 2nd one. I guess he/she was "fed up" and was laying down by the time I returned to observe a feeding.

Feeding time!
Two hungry chicks doing a good job keeping their heads up.
The lost chick is still in the pile, along with one egg.

Edited to add: Ivy has now come to take over duties while Princess finishes her meal.

Edited to add: a big gust of wind knocked Ivy over, and chicks and egg went flying. He gathered them up, then Princess came back to the nest to show him how it's done.

Princess sure is working hard at keeping those chicks & egg covered with the wind blowing her off her "family".
