The wind is up again and Princess just got tossed and the kids a bit but they were back under Mom in seconds ... fortunately, the kids tumble very well ... now Princess has her tail almost between the drain cover and the wall so she should be able sleep rest without surprises ...

1700h
just finished another meal ... Ivy made Princess retrieve it but he only got a couple of minutes with the chicks before she brought back and early supper and muscled him out the way ... she's tucked down on the still just 2 chicks and the last egg.

She is such a good 'Mom' so experienced and wise  :-* - but I really wouldn't blame her if she retires after this year - in the meantime, we can enjoy our Princess once again doing her thing so well with 2 healthy chicks (or 3)  - and PRAY that this family overcomes the hazards of the dreaded LEDGE!  8)

Princess needs to turn herself around so her tail is between the drain and the wall, that way she can't get tossed ... her face would be in the wind but her no room for the wind to get under her tail.  But given how long she was stuck like that the last couple of days though, I can understand her not wanting to sit like that now ...

Thank goodness she was in that perfect position when it really counted.

Uninterupted end incubation time has given these two healthy chicks.

When was the last feeding?
The chicks had a snack around 14:20.

When was the last feeding? After watching Princess calling out, I was thinking of the FoodTV challenge shows and thought, where is our squab/pigeon?  :P Chicks are so very cute and sweet. Sincerely hope the last egg hatches and weather warms up and winds decrease. Radisson Royals persevere!  :)

That was one of those Princess-makes-a-better-door-than-a-window feedings.

But, two squirmy active chicks visible, plus the egg.

Princess brought lunch, I guess Ivy wasn't doing his 'bring home the bacon' job so she did it!  :P

He's settled on them now.

Perhaps Princess just needed to stretch her wings a bit.

Princess called for Ivy for a while, he didn't come - so she took off anyway. Chicks uncovered for a few minutes - then Ivy shows up - but he's just standing there - now he's left - come on Princess or Ivy, it's COLD out there, get on those chicks!  8)

1145h - ... and now Ivy has arrived ... he may be starting his "trick" - bring Princess food but drop it off away from the nest so she has to leave the chicks for a few minutes or awhile ...

That Ivy is one smart bird. Gotta love him. LOL! 8)

1145h - chicks are on their own at the moment ... and now Ivy has arrived ... he may be starting his "trick" - bring Princess food but drop it off away from the nest so she has to leave the chicks for a few minutes or awhile ...

And to confirm, yes the dead chick is out of the nestscrape and just out of camera range.

I think you have LOTS of company in your feelings about this Ledge TPC!  >:( >:( >:(

Days like this remind me again why putting something on this ledge for them to nest in could be a really bad idea ... I have visions of a rooftop getting "tossed" just like Princess and careening across or down Portage Avenue propelled by a 40km/h gust of wind ...
