Not so content I'm afraid, she and Ivy are not pleased that Cowboy and Joli are still looking to nest within the Radisson territory ... just a couple of minutes ago Princess bolted off the eggs and it wasn't for a shift change - can't say for sure that this "bolt" was because of Cowboy and Joli but possibly.  We do know that Ivy has been keeping a close eye on the nestbox when he's not on duty ...

Yes I'm sure it bothers us more than them - let's just pray for no sudden downpours in the next month or so!!  ;)

She may even be very pleased with herself for avoiding what she perceived this season as a hazardous nest site.

Despite causing inconvenience and anxiety to humans she rarely recognizes as worthy of attention, she may be deeply content to be nesting in a familiar and usually successful nesting site.

Ah, Princess!

The location they chose means alot of 'not so great' stuff unfortunately - including the soggy looking Princess I'm seeing on the cam right now...  :-\

sigh, you are so right but I imagine this wild bird likes being out there with no covering over her head. Silly but courageous bird. ::)

I worded my comment poorly - what I meant was not that there was a technical glitch resulting in me having no sound, but that I was wishing we did have it this year, because it would be fun to hear the squawking that was going on!  My heart is missing it  :(.  I know the location they chose means that we won't get sound in Winnipeg this year.

I'm missing the sound this morning.....there's some definite squawking going on there now!!!!

There is no sound. You are hearing Brandon sound.  Winnipeg has no sound this year.

Have we heard anything about the 3 that had transmitters on from last year, and how they are doing?

Only one bird from the Radisson had a transmitter, that was McDermot and as far as we know he is roaming around with a transmitter that doesn't work more than it does.  Last we heard was in January I believe and he was in Tennessee.

There were two West Winnipeg females with transmitters and I have posted information on them on the West Winnipeg board ...

Okay, we had an interloper in the west side nestbox yesterday ... Joli was in make a scrape inside right at the back of the box.  Early this morning, two birds on the box for only a minute and then gone.  It really could only be Joli and Cowboy but no way to tell in the gloom pre-dawn.

We are likely going to block off the nestbox to prevent Cowboy and Joli from seriously considering this site ...

Sounds like a good plan.  Let's have no territorial battles ongoing.

Just so folks know, that is Ivy on the eggs right now, guess Princess was just making sure he got down to business before she went off to do her business ..

Thank you so much for this info, you are the best!  :) :-*
