I don't know why, but I just find them all lying flat out on the ledge really funny!   :D

They look like a bunch of sun worshipers trying to get a good tan!  hahaha

I think it's supposed to rain this evening, so maybe that'll slow them down ;D

...well, I'm happy to say it looks like I was wrong (again) and that they probably won't be fledging today... :-*

Don't say that - when it gets cooler the little bandits will start running around like little crazed creatures and then, well, keep your fingers crossed that they don't get too rambunctious!  :o

The chicks are sprawled out on their bellies in the sun along the ledge about 1/2 way between the nestbox and the end of the ledge where the ledge cam is located.  This is not an unusual resting position for young birds both pre- and post-fledging.  The concrete they are lying on yesterday was covered in water so it will still be cool which will help them to keep cool.  Much less fragrant out on the ledge than in the nestbox as well.

Hi KC. Are your kinderchicklets still there in your care to watch the Royals?  :) ;) :-* to them.
No, gemcity, my Kinderchicklets are only at school in the mornings and they missed watching the Radisson chicks at school today because I thought the webcam was still down. :( But many of them do go home and watch the chicks there. They are very excited to see that the chicks may be learning to fly soon. They like watching them "wingersize" and try to replicate the action. :)

Please tell them that I was born and raised in Ohio. The cardinal is the state bird of Ohio. A very beautiful bird. Saw many through the years. gcg

Great to have the webcam back up and running again and good to hear the chicks are all safe and sound, for the moment, at least. :)

:-* :-* Thank you, CBC. ;) If we don't see our chicks, we become phanatics. Again, TPC, you are always diligent in pursuit for your phalcon phorum phans. You are there before we become phrantic. Hang in there for us, Radisson Royals. Not ready to let you go.  ::)

This is from earlier this evening, one of the Radisson boys (yellow tape on band) wandering up and down the ledge in the rain.

Must have been a warm rain.  :P

I've had the webcam running in the background at work for a while now, and the most I've seen is 3 birdies.  Anybody know where #4 is?

I just checked in and was wondering the same thing.  Where is #4?  Hope he or she is sleeping under cover or out on the ledge.

 ??? ??? Where's Waldo????

Good thing y'all can't see all the cameras - one of the chicks just decided it wanted to sit on the louvres and jumped up about 2ft, clung onto the louvre flapping its wings to keep it stable then dropped safely down to the ledge.  Heart-stopping 30 seconds.  Mind you, crazy idea but good aim, strong execution and nice landing.

...so what would you have awarded him?  9.25?  9.5?  (remember, Olympics are coming up... ;D )

;D ;D good one, jadoo! LOL!
