So now as the day wears on, do those stats come into play again?  Are the chances of the last egg hatching today slowly diminishing as the day wears on and we'll have another 4am hatch tomorrow?  Or are those stats based upon first hatch?

Princess looks funny with her butt in the air, catching a breeze perhaps? ;D

I watched that too yesterday Enraptured, and it got too painful for me to watch.  I couldn't stand see that one little guy get nothing.   :'(

Ya, I almost quit watching, too, but I just couldn't stand to not know if that chick ever got fed. Of course the next feeding a chick didn't get fed either but I don't know if it was the same one or not.

I was wondering if maybe the parents were new parents and don't know to move close to the chicks, or whether there's a reason for them to be so tied to holding the prey down so far away ....

I've checked on them today and so far I haven't seen a feeding, but I also don't see the fourth egg. I hope it's just covered up by the three chicks...

Oh, I know I peeked and once or twice I thought that one might have got one or two tiny bites.  First thing this am I watched a feeding, same thing, parent standing way back and chicks tumbling about to eat, again one was always left out.  Thats when later today I said, oh I have to turn that off for awhile and just concentrate on P and T.   :) There was an egg there this morning.

Looks like the shade has finally arrived now maybe Mom can get some rest and coolness.  Too funny watching that one little one who keeps popping out by her wing.

My but does that shade ever move in fast!  I know we're not that cloudy here, just a few puffballs in the sky.

So they will soon be getting some shade for the afternoon I expect.  Maybe that will quiet things down.  Or maybe that other egg is about to hatch too , and Princess just has her hands full.  Hmmm.

Its a good question Enraptured.

First thing is that rarely do the individual chicks not get enough to eat at this stage.  Keep in mind how often the parents are coming in and how small the chick is.  At this stage the chick is about the size of your clenched fist. There really isn't much room in them for food at this stage.  Even little Mistral last year got her fair share and she was 1/2 the size of her male siblings right from the start and the last to hatch.  As has been mentionned elsewhere, the chicks grow very fast over the next week and will be active (sometimes more than active) participants in the feeding process in just a few days.  Chicks that grab at food in one feeding, will probably not be ones grabbing so much at the next feeding or the feeding after that.  There is no siblicide among peregrines so one chick will not be singled out.  Also remember, they all the chicks look alike and that everytime the adults stuff them back underneath they are also moving them around - think "shell game" and you get the idea.

Haha Princess is having one heck of a time keeping those little fluff balls underneath her. Seems like they keep trying to squirm away from her. At least they have moved back up a bit so they're not as cut off as they were earlier today. Who knows where they will be tomorrow!

Sorry, it's me again!

TPC, is it possible to zoom out a teeny tiny bit or change the camera angle a touch? All morning (for me anyway) I'm only getting two thirds of the adult and not always the chicks with P or T moves....  I don't know if there's something I can do to my view or if others are having the same problem...
