I thought I saw the third chick partially out.

I may be confused, but I remember only three eggs, not four eggs, whenever the shift changed. ???

We only have four at the Radisson I'm afraid Enraptured!  :)

Hmmm, it seems I'm not the only one getting mixed up between three and four!  I'm sure it's only three at the Radisson....!   :P

Just got a peak at the remaining egg, looks like a substantial crack in it.

Did you see that when Princess got up . I think that egg is on its way to becoming a chick.

Their size does not tell. I would bet that maybe this is a young female and this is possibly her first clutch.

We had a big first time female at our site last year but an experienced male so it balanced out.  although she ended up to be an excellent mother.

Sometimes they catch on right away and sometimes it take s a bit but I am sure it will work out.

Mine ended up O.K. although I had many trials and errors :) ::) :)
Princess is really pulling that gravel around her. Trying to make a ddp impression to keep the chicks in. what a gal.

we were talking about Elk River Cam Bev.  They are not banded so don't know how old the parents are.  seem really big though, although don't imagine that says much.

Which nest site are you watching that  happening on? At Columbus we were afraid that Scout . a young falcon, would starve the youngest one becasue she was standing so far back and he was so little. He was not moving up and she was not moving back.   But she caught on and that little one figured out how to get around to get fed.  I think experience helps. I do not know about you but my first child was my guinea pig :) :)I learned as I went along.  Scout right now has 4 healthy chicks.
so do not fear.  They are not like eagles.

So now as the day wears on, do those stats come into play again?  Are the chances of the last egg hatching today slowly diminishing as the day wears on and we'll have another 4am hatch tomorrow?  Or are those stats based upon first hatch?

Don't worry about egg 3 yet, could hatch later today as there is lots of noise from the adults and siblings to encourage it.  Could also hatch tomorrow or even the day after.  If there is a problem with the egg, Princess and Trey will know and they will stop incubating.  Remember y'all were worried about how long these guys were taking to hatch?  Looks like Princess and Trey knew what they were doing!  :D

Oh, I know I peeked and once or twice I thought that one might have got one or two tiny bites.  First thing this am I watched a feeding, same thing, parent standing way back and chicks tumbling about to eat, again one was always left out.  Thats when later today I said, oh I have to turn that off for awhile and just concentrate on P and T.   :) There was an egg there this morning.

Oh good, I'm relieved to know there was still the fourth egg this morning. Hopefully I catch a glimpse of it or a fourth chick! Each clutch has one to go!
