1500 hrs (local) - Princess is on the eggs this afternoon. She's got her head right against the wall and her tail tucked up against the wall as in this position she gets fluffed up but not blown off the eggs. She has tried positions, including facing north, but because the winds swirl around the buildings and get funnelled up the streets, today's north wind comes from the north/south/east at times.
And the wind is getting up there - N 39 km/h gusting to 52 km/h. The ledge is on the east side of the building and low enough that the higher buildings up and down the nearby streets form canyons that funnel the wind. That's why the corner of Portage & Main are famous - its one of the windiest places in Canada. In fact, when the TD Centre was built, they started providing "small car warnings" (like the marine small craft warnings) for the corner.
