1023 hrs (local) - we have blue sky, some sun, more hopefully on the way.  Temp is now -2c/-7c with the windchill downtown.  Princess is getting bored, she's been doing some housecleaning - but without letting me see her eggs  :-\

0920 hrs (local) - Princess is on duty on the eggs and she has her head up and is looking around and watching everything.  She's not disturbed by anything, I think just glad she doesn't have to keep her head down.

There is a bit of wind this morning from the south but that is suppose to diminish over the course of the morning - and the sun is suppose to come out - which it may actually be trying to do as I can see some faint but distinct shadows.  The downside is that its cold and with the wind there is actually a windchill this morning - temp is -3c, feels like -9c with the windchill however.  But it is suppose to get warmer - somewhere between +5c and +8c.  Can't believe I'm happy about single digit plus temps just before the Victoria Long Weekend!

And yes, had a look at yesterday's photos as well as some from last year, and I think the bird on the eggs for most of yesterday was Princess, probably because she's bigger and could be sure of keeping them covered.  There may also have been some "its not happening again" going on there given the determination not to move more than absolutely necessary yesterday!!

Welcome Whitehorse!
I have also been following these falcons for a few years I just don't say a lot on here. I do have my moments though. Glad you came on board and enjoy!

Me or P&T?  ;D  ;)  Whichever was trooping today in that horrid weather definitely gets a fold-and-bow from me!  Thank goodness for the hotel wall!

btw, TPC - I'm wondering why the Radisson sign has stayed on the building despite two owners since the Radisson chain.  Is it because of the PFs?

Nope, seems that the Hotel remains a Radisson despite changes in ownership.  Now having said that, haven't heard if CanadInns plans on a name change in the future.  The birds however, don't care what the sign says so long as there is a sign they can sit on.  This pair is actually know in scientific/recovery circles as the Delta Pair because the Hotel was the Delta Winnipeg Hotel (DWH) when the birds started nesting - as a result in some records it continues to be referred that way so its clear its the same site.  As I recall, the brids liked the foot of the D to roost on and the chicks could be found lying on the curves of the E and the A after fledging ...
Hello, I have been reading the posts, and watching the cam now for a couple of years, decided it was time to join in!

I live in Whitehorse, (as I guess you could figure out by my name,)  I have eagles and hawks and goldens up here, but I don't think I have ever seen a falcon, I don't know if they come this far north.

Hey Whitehorse - yup you do have peregrines, actually you have both the anatum and the tundrius subspecies in your neck of the woods (oops, pun) because of how far north the treeline goes.  I'll see if I can track down where I have notes on peregrines nesting nearest to you.  Will post it and send you a pm (private message) when I've found something out ...  and welcome aboard!  Nice to see a lurker come in from the cold  :D

Whitehorse welcome. If you've been following for some time now, you are well aware that we are all a little bit on the loony side. And now you can get into the social zone that is for members only. After reading a bunch of that you may want to reconsider ;D ;D . However, speaking as one who only joined a couple of months ago, this a great place to land, a leader that we respect, admire and love. And the icing on the cake is the rest of the Phanatics. They are the most awesome group I have ever encountered. That being said, jump in, enjoy the ride, and may the force protect you ;D ;D

"Winnipeg was about the same has here in Whitehorse, and that is kind of sad, considering how far south you are from me!"  So true!
Glad to hear you chime in, Whitehorse.  I think they do go that far north, but maybe not in your area.  TPC (aka The Peregrine Chick, aka Tracy) can answer that.  Actually, I know that topic was covered a month or so ago.  allikat or carly with find it!   :)

I hope he/she is okay.

The wind has shifted yet again and now it's coming from the north @ 35 km/h so the feathers will get a little ruffled.  At least the rain has stopped!  But the forecast has changed again for tomorrow...MORE RAIN!  Oh come on!!!  Give our peregrines a break already!
