Hard to believe it's been a week since the chicks tumbled and stumbled their way out of the nest tray (leaving much panic and consternation in their wake until Tracy reassured us that all was well!). Looking at them today and trying to picture all three of them back in the nest tray makes it clear how much they've grown in that time.

It's looking pretty dark from the cam...and the wind seems to really be picking up

Right now, the temp is 27 C, wind is SSE at 30 km and there are no dark clouds in the sky, although unthreatening white clouds are increasing and there is a 30% chance of thunderstorm sometime this afternoon. Not yet, but maybe! At this point, though, the dark must be shade.

;) Linnies - Lineolated Parakeets  "lil tea cup parrots"  Green & Adorable   ;)

BOT - It is really funny (to me) to see the "similarities" (thems and myn) - A bird, is a bird...is a bird... But rather, I see they all have their own idiosyncrasies (meat eaters vs. seed eaters vs. nectar eaters etc.)  very cooooool!

;D  I call that particular wing flapping "Air Conditioning" and that's just prior to getting their "Pilots License"   ;D  it's very cute!
At my house when the babies are air conditioning...they get wood chips everywhere! drives me crazy!  ;D   Good thing that the rocks don't fly out from the falcon ledge!  ouch! look out below!

What bird (I'm guessing bird?) babies do you have?
Love that they have "air conditioning".  Good word.

And there goes Mom, taking off with the remains -- and already the little ones are settling back into the shade of the ledge. After that meal, they should be able to nap for a while.

Finally I'm catching a close-up feeding! One little guy didn't seem to be getting any of the meal, so he had wandered off but is now back to try again -- or maybe not. I think this is Princess, and she's definitely doling out bigger chunks of whatever -- and here comes chick #3 back to get his share now that the other two have had their fill.

Just before this latest close-up, I watched the chick by the drain cover take a stumble toward something on the ground. He flapped his wings wildly, trying to keep his balance, and he almost looked as though he knew what he was doing and might take flight. I know it's too early, but he did seem to be getting better control of the wings -- unlike the times when the wings seem to topple the chick. Now all three are gathered at the south end of the ledge, awake though not for long, I'm sure!

aaaaahhhh they are playing under the roof paper (I have no idea what that flapping black stuff is called)  But the ledge reminds me of the sights of winter too...all the white stuff and all the blowing about   :P!   looks like snow!
I think the falcons should tell the landlords they need more ROCK! but don't fix the flaps cause they like to hide in them!  ;D

hope everyone is having a great day so far!   :-*  :-*

Great up close shot, it's great to see how much they are growing! Love those fancy new feathers they are sporting :)
