Think the chicks will be sticking to the shade soon -- the day is warming up quickly, heading for a high of 29 with showers/thunderstorm possible this afternoon. I missed the recent feeding -- darn!

there was a big feed about a half hour ago.  Trey had food to feed.  Princess came flying in ... took the food and fed the kids herself.  We know who's the boss of that family.

Good morning everyone.  Another warm day.....at least there's a breeze out there.  One of the southern chicks is stirring.  His/her sibs are both in a comotoze state for now.  No sign of mum or dad.  Don't know if our chicks have had breakfast or not.  Oh oh awake chick is trying to wake one of the others.  No go, so he/she has decided to go back to sleep as well.

Seems to be some wind this morning, I can see is mom/dads white feathers blowing as they are sitting on the ledge standing guard. The chicks are getting restless and preening, wow, I am amazed at how much I can see at 5:30 am!

Nah, I let you have it. ;D I just got home from a concert -- usually I'd be in bed by now myself.

right, now I've had a chance to read the last 5 pages of posts (thanks for the wonderful play-by-play while I had guests here (still here, but sleeping now because they came from the east coast))

So, "Lurch" is too dang funny, bccs!  Now we have "waldo and lurch" and we just need a third name for TPC to flip out and explain that there is zero chance those will be on the list to vote for...  I'm still laughing!   ;D

water - yes, they get their water from their food, nearly 100%.  it's possible they will get a drink some other way, but in the main it's from their food.

okay.  in 15 minutes I'll start the next day's thread....   8)

oh, cool!  saw a parent (impossible to know who in the dark) fly in and land with clearly a late night snack in talon!  How neat to see in silhouette!

Impossible to know if the chicks are up and feeding as it is all dark now on the ledge, but that was Very Cool.   8)
