Oh, this is great -- food tug of war in the nest tray! That's the first time I've seen one of the chicks hop back into the tray and I never expected to see the parent follow him in to take back the food!

You're welcome, Liz -- I've been watching them at work (very carefully!); it does become addictive. Speaking of that, in previous years, how long would the chicks stay around the nest area once they've fledged? I expect to go into withdrawal once they "leave home"!

Thanks for the play-by-plays Saoirse et al.  It's nice to know what giggles I missed during the day. 

TPC said banding will probably be Thursday or Friday.  She'll let us know.

A piece of roofing paper. To bad it wasn't white - wouldn't heat. But the chicks find shade and also provides more breeze.

Has anyone heard anything about when the banding will be? Also, what is that "thing" flapping at the front of the nest ledge? Is it a bird or part of the roof?

Have not watched other chicks from this next ledge. Did they react the same as these ones behavior wise or was it different. These seem to be apart most of the time except at night?
