Took a day off work today, so I can actually post instead of just watching!  Though the watching is fun!

Rather damp looking little chicks, they sure like to climp up on the cover!

It's kinda funny to watch them phlappin those little wings around and all the fluff flies off, like snow.  Won't be long now.

Wow, you guys certainly get the weather there!  I have sunshine, light winds and a few clouds!  Maybe T & P should move north!  :)

It is amazing how much they change in just a few days, way more black than white showing!

Weather - final note (at the moment) ...

Biggest concern over the next couple of days will be that we are suppose to get high winds - NW 40-60 km/h.  Hopefully the kids will stay off the vent and ledges and keep their wings down!!  The rain should help though, they will want to keep dry, so they probably will not flap much.  We'll have to see how much common sense these little charmers have ...

WOCN11 CWWG 261743
Updated special weather statement issued for regions of southern
Manitoba by Environment Canada at 12:43 PM CDT Friday 26 June 2009.

Special weather statement issued for..
City of Winnipeg
Steinbach - St. Adolphe - Dominion City - Vita - Richer
Selkirk - Gimli - Stonewall - Woodlands - Eriksdale
Dugald - Beausejour - Grand Beach
Morden - Winkler - Altona - Emerson - Morris
Bissett - Nopiming Provincial Park - Pine Falls
Whiteshell - Lac Du Bonnet - Pinawa
Sprague - Northwest Angle Provincial Forest.

Heavy rainfall is possible for the southern Red River Valley and
southeast Manitoba through this evening and Saturday.  Locally severe
thunderstorms may produce in excess 50 mm this afternoon and this
evening.  Convection will give way to an intense low pressure system
that will move across southern Manitoba overnight and Saturday
bringing widespread rain with embedded thunderstorms.  Total rainfall
accumulations are uncertain, but currently a further 30 to 60 mm of
rain through Saturday seems most likely.  However, the potential
exists that some areas may see the possibility of receiving in excess
of 90 mm.  As more information becomes available and the track and
the intensity of the incoming low pressure system rainfall
accumulations in the local forecasts will be updated.

End

Returning to the topic at hand, since its a rainy Friday and folks have nothing better to do than to get tangential on us ...

Chick on the vent, very definitely a little boy, didn't want to pull apart his own meal when his sister snagged lunch from Trey.  Does however enjoy having Princess feed him little pieces of food and feathers  ::)

Princess could have been more helpful here and had the boys feeding from the other side giving a potential view of the bands!

Told Loriann to be on guard for the big sudden drop in temperature. I hear that thunderstorms with hail will be arriving.

Am I correct in assuming that the loner is our female?

I was woundering the same thing, only I thought that the males were typically smaller.....Is the loner eating enough, I just saw it near one of it's siblings and it's much smaller.

the one with the food is the female - more white still showing and getting bigger.
