Morning all.  Here's hoping for a calmer day today and that little Miss (Vesper) had a good night and enjoys the new location!

Is there a way to view that west nest box?  (never mind just read TCP's post from last night).  ;)

Already getting that empty nest feeling.
I see Tracy posted the all o.k. report on the CBC Falcon site, at 01:57 a.m.
I also see my favorite name of Tupper has passed Ty with one day to go.

Tupper 704 votes
Ty 684
Vesper 1177

They are also using more new names on that site, poor chicks will have name
confusion. Or maybe just us.

5:50 am EST and I see one bro standing on the ledge all by his lonesome in the semi darkness.  And he just took off..wow!  Okay no one on the ledge now  ::)

IT is about 1:50am Wednesday "morning" and I have just watched TPC and our baby lady falcon.  That did not look like an easy capture!  The young bird was fighting as best she knew how.  I would have used something a whole lot better than just my bare hands.  Now, imagine those talons and beak when she REALLY knows how to use them.   :o  Hats off to you Tracey :)

As I say goodnight, I see one of the brothers is still cuddled up in the south corner, tail sticking over the edge. I haven't seen any indication that the other brother (HS, I think) has returned tonight and no other silhouettes are showing on the ledge. I hope the boys and P & T all have a good night despite the absence of little miss.

TPC, I hope you and your fiesty falcon house guest, in Chez Bathtub, have a good night (hopefully with lots of sleep and not a peep from the bathtub keeping you and your neighbours up!!)

Good luck with the release!  I hope she decides to get her bearings and hang out for a while on the roof -- fingers crossed.

Thank you so much for the update, TPC. Glad to know she is doing well. I hope everything goes smoothly for her release in the morning, and that she will stay safe during the day.

well 11:49 pm wpg time and I can still see the tail of one of the boys in the south corner. snuggled there for the night I presume he hasn't moved in a long time. good night babies wherever you are. Thank You TPC for that final update for tonight. Pray all goes smooth for you all in the early hours.

All's well with Our Girl - she's staying at Chez Bathtub (see todays Peregrine Chick Blog entry) tonight and will be going back up on the Hotel roof at o-dark-thirty tomorrow morning.  I've told Dennis I'll be at the Hotel around 5am, which means probably after 0500hrs because if I have a bird, guaranteed it will take me longer to get out of the house than I think.  She will be going up into the nestbox on the west side and I'm going to try to slow her down a bit so she doesn't immediately launch herself into the air once I let her go.  That way she can think about what she wants to do and where she wants to do it.

I'm afraid there will be not visitors on the roof, I would like to keep it very quiet and the fewer in attendance the less stressed she will be and hopefully she will just hang out in the box/on the ledge until she's got her bearings or until after Trey or Princess bring her something to eat.

Someone asked if we were going to activate the cameras on the west side, thought about it, but no, its not a simple flip of a switch, the cameras are different and operate differently and I don't want to spend more time on the roof than I have to and I don't suspect that Our Girl will spend much time on the ledge, new fledglings don't most times, once they start flying, they keep flying.

CBC Radio was already going to be running the 2 million viewers story on tomorrow's morning news, I guess they still will even though it was on CBC TV tonight, but I don't know that for sure, guess we will have to see.

Okay, that's it for now ... off to bed.  See some of you tomorrow I'm sure!

Does TPC patrol the streets with a bucket in hand? ;D That was an awesome rescue - TPC marched up to her & it was like "what do you think you're doing young lady?"

I was wondering the same.  but great work.  thamks for the updates.
