Well...
Tonight was another great fledge watch get together. There was me, Debc52, Linderlou, Bccs, Liz and Pam came a little later to join us.
The night started off slow. Just trying to track down who was where and who's on first and what's on second...you know the drill.
Saw some flying around as we all met at the corner of Portage and Smith. We decided to take a walk to see if we could find our girl...as she is the centre of attention, and that's because of her lack of flying skills, she's just the centre of attention.
We walked to the back of the St. Regis Hotel and decided to park there for a bit....you know to mimick Vesper
Anywho.....we found 2 other bird watchers, not forum members, although they just might become members after tonight..IF Bccs didn't scare them away with her "falcon walk".
There was a lot of discussion going on as we were just hangin out, and one of the watchers, TED...yay for TED, he pointed out that he saw falcons on the Radisson. So the "watchers", quickly get out their binocs and check things out. And "sharp eyes Ted" is right. Way to go TED!
There was some magnificant flying going on tonight folks. Vesper was on the roof of the Rogers building then later moved to a window ledge on the Radisson.
The boys are chasing after Dad as he as prey ready to be grabbed from his talons. It's really fun to watch Mom and/or Dad teach the boys how to hunt for food. The flying is just spectacular. We saw one of the grab the food away from Dad and land on the open patio at the back of the hotel and the other brother followed him there. We think one boy had the catch all to himself. Vesper, during all of this excitement, was just hangin' out on one of the window ledges squakin' away. Kinda asking in a round about way, "where the heck is my dinner, I'm waiting."
Trey tried to stoop some pigeons flying by but he missed...I'm guessing that meal was for our girl Vesper.
I'm am so impressed with the flying skills of Tupper and Ty, they are doing so well.
Vesper, is a little behind, but she'll get there. She seems to know when it safe to go out and play.
All in all, it was another great night to watch our falcons fly high in the sky.
It's just wonderful to see all five of them together.... if any of you can come downtown to watch this spectacular air show, please do. It's worth it!
Ciao for now!!!!
