RCF thinks there might be two under there but I can't see it (yet) - would be nice though 😁

If folks are still looking for the webcam - 2025 FalconCam

Our friends at Rogers TV have swapped out the encoding software we were using and have stalled new and though I am loathe to say this (knock on wood knock on wood knock on wood) the feed seems stable.  Been 24 hours now ...

Did find out that the night before last, there was a power outage at Rogers that shut down the old encoder. Power outages either at the Radisson or at Rogers will cause the feed to crash but it is a simple fix, reboot and upload.  The problem we've been having until now this year has been a technical problem, not a turn on, turn off problem.  Hopefully that part is solved.

Think happy thoughts 😁

And the shake up continues - 11 hours, 59 minutes and 57 seconds this time.
Sigh ...

Feed is back up and holding so far.
We have an interesting mystery here. In the past when the cam has gone down it's because there has been an internet connection blip. So far that isn't the problem so we (actually our Rogers tech is) working our way back back up through the system to see what might be giving us grief.

So how to tell if there is a problem?

1) the screen will actually say the video feed isn't available
2) if you move your cursor over the video image you should see "Live" beside a red dot at the bottom of the image. If you still see a video but no "Live", then you are watching a YouTube created video clip.

It is never smooth sailing launching the FalconCam, sometimes it's more behind the scenes, sometimes it is front and centre in public (like this year).  This is why we try to launch in more than a few days in advance of the start of hatching.

Thanks for being patient - and know we are working on it! (And keeping an eye on the feed. If you see or think there might be a problem, I'm going to set up a separate area where folks can post.
