Sorry , never followed up
We lost one on ledge. It just passed away before fledging. And Peter and I rescued the second one right from fledge.
It was sick and we took to rehab. After a few weeks it was ready for release on Pembina. I believe , female and she did very well

Have to wonder about avian flu these days .... glad your Pembina chick did well!

I will email you Tracy. Thought I had updated. I am very heartbroken about Princess. I think if you had known Radisson, you would have seen, how much like Princess she was . And Greengirl at Weber has same traits. After reading all you wrote, I made the conclusion.
Anyhow, we had 4 hatches here, we lost one, before attempted banding. We figure heat was the problem. If we had had the cam , we may have been able to save it. But we had 3 large females, all fledged and all rescued. Dr. Court decided we would not put them back up this year, and so they were hacked at Pembina. They did well there and Gord banded them. I will send you their bands. They all did get to fly though. I did have one at the house overnight. She was gorgeous. Gord felt tails needed to develop more, as they were in box so long because of extreme heat.
I will try and post some photos of them
I hold my breath every spring. Radisson was 15 years old when she migrated this year. I love her dearly and like Princess, her great prescience, seemed to be all that was needed. But she did have one nest fight this year, and was the Victor.
Hugs to you, as I know how much love and respect you had for Princess.
