The three Boise chicks are still around the nest area, but they look close to fledging:

The Boise chicks are wandering in and out of the nest box now.

Only one was visible in the nest earlier:

Now I don't feel like an idiot for phoning them yesterday!

Lol ... please you have nothing on me, I called Australia for a chick last year and I spent a half hour this afternoon in a strangers backyard trying to talk a juvie out of a bad part of a tree and even tried to show him by flapping my arms how he could get out of the tree ... ;D  ;)

Well done Alison!!!

The cam view was switched for a few minutes:

And there is a new update on the site, posted this evening:

Monday, 8 June:
Lots of action at the nest box over the weekend! A small team led by Idaho Fish and Game Department biologist Bruce Haak went out on the ledge Saturday afternoon to put a wayward chick back in the nest box after it climbed out, then couldn’t hop over the edge of the box to get back in. Recent high winds and heavy rain influenced the decision to assist the chick, even though it was being fed and closely watched by its parents. While they were there, Fish and Game also banded the chicks. Each chick (two females and one male, we now know) sports a small aluminum U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service band on one leg. A chick was observed out of the box again Sunday. Bruce Haak and Jack Cafferty of The Peregrine Fund went up on the ledge Monday morning to put a rock at the edge of the box that the chicks can use to hop in and out. Clearly, the youngsters are eager to explore their surroundings.

Now I don't feel like an idiot for phoning them yesterday!

Alison, the first of the photos, with the three fluffy chicks lined up watching their parent on the ledge, is beautiful.

There is a place along side of the web page where people can chat, post comments etc.  Sometimes they are just chatting and not talking about the falcons.

I was really happy to see three little heads in the nest box earlier. I don't know if someone put the third chick back, or if he/she made it back on his own.

Maggieblue, I'm not sure what comments you are referring to? I didn't know there was a place to comment on that site.

Boise webcam was off this morning.  All 3 chicks are back in the box with parents visiting. I think that they were banded and all returned.  And if you go there be forwarned that a lot of comments are being made about Manitoba and the nestbox.  I posted a reply but that probably won't slow them down much.

I just checked the nest box and it looks like 3 chicks in a pile in the corner.  Good to see the picture tho of the wide ledge.  I love watching them but boy do they get my heart racing at times. This is at all sites I check in on.

Thank you, Pchemist! I really appreciate that information! I'm glad the ledge is a reasonable size; now I'm wondering where the nest box is in relation to the ledge. Where the chick is at the moment is maybe a few inches below the nest box.
