How old is Princess now, TPC? And when do Peregrines stop procreating? I'm sure you have answered this many times but I don't know how to go back and find out.
Peregrines stop producing eggs when they do - no set age limit. There are older birds that have produced viable eggs and younger birds that have stopped producing all together.
Princess was hatched in Minneapolis in 2002, so as of this year, she is 16 years old. Last year she produced 3 healthy chicks with seemingly little difficulty, but she doesn't really confide in me so we will have to see if she returns in the future or decides to take a leisurely retirement out of the reach of amorous young peregrines and their desire to procreate.
