Wpgfan, I believe your thoughts express why so many of us (people) like to keep watching and learning from them.

And as I understand it (and past years bear it out) the males' performances are tied to cues from their mate and the chicks.  Hopefully Smiley is getting better at reading the cues.

Maybe poor Smiley needs an advocate. :D

Since this is only his second year as a dad, I hope he's just getting started (as you mentioned); wish I was able to spend more time watching/tracking things.

TPC, have you noticed if Princess has been consistent in her cues for Smiley to bring food?

susha:
Looks like another disappointing morsel, full of feathers and not much else ::)

GCG:
Apparently we are at that time when the little ones are able to spend more their time without Princess "trying" to keep them covered. It is that time when we see major growth spurts, butt scoots, poop shoots and eventual wandering.  :)

newchick:
10:45 a.m. and just the chick pile, no one to keep them warm.  I am hoping it's warm enough for them.  Maybe Princess has decided to go out and get some decent "take-out" food, as Smiley seems to not be doing so great.

Hope the little guys are ok. :-\
