And it looks like Beatrix might have inherited some of her grandfather's (Trey's) neat genes.  Her box has just one small black head sitting in the corner from when it was raining so hard.  No feathers or legs or anything.  Not like the Radisson - man o man, Smiley has got to learn to just bring the edible bits so the inedible bits don't collect.  Never seen the Radisson box this messy this early.

Well...Smiley is special.  He is a male falcon wanting to get into Princess' heart...?   :-\

Sorry to compare...but it's kinda like when a cat gets a hairball - the sound and viewing isn't pleasant, (nor the smell), but, after it's out of their system, it's like nothing ever happened.

lots of hacking up or trying to hack up pellets today.  Scared the pants off a lot of first timers let me tell you!!  The number of emails I got  :D
Yet another thing that isn't pleasant to watch when they are young.  Mind you, the adults don't look all that more graceful yakking up a pellet either.  Afterwards they just pretend it didn't happen which is kind of funny though.

Watching the video feed, it seems the egg is still a pillow. Interesting that a parent hasn't got rid of it yet.

I keep thinking that one is just a tad bigger and a tad pushier :-\
Yup, I noticed a difference this morning when I did a quick check-in.
We're all happy no matter how it turns out!  :)

Totally agree, Liz!  It's fun to watch two little individual personalities as they develop, regardless of their genders.

(One girl and one boy would be fun too ;D)

Must be really hot up there in the nest box. The chicks are both laying down in the sliver of shade against the wall. Princess appears to be panting & is trying to provide a bit of a "mumbrella" for her babies.

Chick still seems to be hacking away..... maybe part of feather still stuck?  :-\

The poor little thing has been hacking away for at least a couple of hours. I hope s/he gets whatever is in there out soon.  :(
