If you look closely at he pipped egg in the video (make it full screen), you can see the chick moving inside the egg.  8)

Just in case anyone thinks it's raining in Brandon, it's only water dripping off the roof gutters that are plugged, it will  drip like that for days. :)
Thanks, I was wondering about that.

Hasn't rained in Brandon since 0500h, only 1ml in my rain gauge overnight and wind is from the south southwest, so maybe a good day for a hatch? :)

It"s raining but dry in the nest box and the forecast says it's supposed to stop later this morning.  :)

I can hear peeping coming from under Hurricane this morning.  :) :-*

You may need to turn up your sound but definitely a peeping chick.

1215: Brooklyn still on the eggs and Hurricane is resting on her favorite perch, the northeast louver of the scotia towers. She is in the shade and out of the wind. If anyone is watching the cam and hears funny sounds it is the summer fair parade. 8)

Chronology for this morning ...

0418h - shift change, Brooklyn on-duty now - can just see eggs in the gloom
0716h - shift change, Hurricane on, little feather by one egg, but I don't thing from the egg - Papa's breast feather perhaps?
0904h - shift change, Brooklyn back, eggs looked good, amazing how dark they have remained in comparison with the Radisson eggs this year ...
1045h - Brooklyn still "on" - he's been napping quite soundly this morning and just in the last hour doing a little hoovering around the box, occasionally getting up and off the eggs entirely  ... according to my weather tracker it is 17C right now in Brandon so no problem getting off the eggs at this stage in the game ...

And sometimes it depends on the forecaster ... here is today's from my source ...

Day - Mostly cloudy with rain in the afternoon. High of 20C. Breezy. Winds from the ESE at 15 to 25 km/h. Chance of rain 70%.
Night - Overcast with a chance of rain. Low of 11C. Breezy. Winds from the ESE at 10 to 20 km/h. Chance of rain 60%.

Glad there is a roof in Brandon if the chicks hatch ... can't be sure what the weather will be like today   ::) ;) ;D
