Hurricane really is such a beautiful looking peregrine falcon when I look at her up close. She's cuddling her chicks right now.

Chronology so far this morning ...

0505h - 1st meal - fed to them by Hurricane
0840h - 2nd meal - fed to them by Brooklyn! (he was very fast and kept looking around for Hurricane)
- the chicks have been uncovered as much as they have been covered

Weather for today ...

Day - Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon. High of 22C. Winds less than 5 km/h. Chance of rain 40%.
Night - Overcast in the evening, then clear. Low of 11C. Winds from the SSE at 5 to 15 km/h.

I think it is funny that Hurricane and Radisson(in Edmonton),  have very strong names. I do see a lot of the names in the family trees, and that some have come back to the general area. Ty, Cowboy and more, that link them back to this very watched nests.

Brooklyn is the daughter of Princess at the Radisson ? What year would that be?

Brooklyn is the son of Keener-Screech and Holly from the Mckenzie Seeds building in 2007.  Hurricane is the daughter of Princess and Trey from the Radisson Hotel in Winnipeg in 2007.

I find it interesting that Brooklyn and Hurricane are so different compared to, say, other falcon parents.  I've noticed in the past, as well as present, they leave their chicks sooner and for longer periods of time.  Not a concern, just a comment...
.....and Mommy just came back to be the Mumbrella to her chicks as there seems to be a rainshower going on right now...

Meal just a few minutes ago, now there is a little conference going on amongst the kids ...

Looks as if the chicks are "tripoding" right now.

Brooklyn managed to get 15 minutes with the kids about an hour ago - Happy Father's Day! 


Weather for today ...

Day - Overcast in the morning, then partly cloudy with a chance of a thunderstorm and rain. High of 23C. Breezy. Winds from the WNW at 15 to 20 km/h. Chance of rain 60%.
Night - Overcast with a chance of rain in the evening, then clear. Low of 10C. Breezy. Winds from the North at 10 to 20 km/h. Chance of rain 50%.

Awwww.  Brooklyn does look a bit furtive, and those chicks look very well fed.

Tomorrow is Fathers Day, so maybe he'll get more time with his little ones.

Hurricane just fed these three and now Brooklyn comes in to feed them. He keeps looking out to see if Hurricane is coming because he knows she will make him leave.  He takes the food with him when she comes back.     He just wants to be with his kids, Poor Guy!!

Brooklyn was perched on the nestbox edge, didn't see Hurricane.  He alarmed called about this time because of a hawk flying overhead.

Cloudy looking out from the nestbox cam and it looks like it has been raining.  Hurricane has her back to the cam and the kids are tucked up in the corner ...
