UND Water Tower, Grand Forks

At the end of the nesting season in 2009, the peregrines' home, the Smiley Tower in downtown Grand Forks, was demolished.  A year before, the Grand Forks Project installed a new nestbox on the University of North Dakota water tower on campus.  When the birds returned in 2010, they made the transition to the new nestsite with no trouble whatsoever.

There is no webcam at this location, but you can see photos of all the birds at Grand Forks Project's Photo Gallery .

Resident Pair

Male:  Roosevelt - 2005 wild-hatch from the Bank of the West in Fargo, North Dakota
Female:  T2 the Terminator - 2006 wild-hatch from the McKenzie Seeds Building in Brandon

Terminator nested first in Grand Forks with Roosevelt's brother Bear in 2008.  When Bear didn't return in 2009, Roosevelt was Terminator's choice for hubby number two.  They have been together for two years.
