So far a good old Manitoba freeze hasn't set in yet! When it does she might get her wings flapping and head South.

Just as long as she doesn't get the idea that if she stays here all winter she's going to be able to claim one of the sites.

...and Sandy is showing us again how familiar she is with those spots.

Neither Jules nor Princess will be impressed with her choice of locations ...  ;D

Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10:15 a.m., birdy sitting on the "e" facing west. I kid you not!...
I have looked there a few times in the past few weeks but have not seen any birds at all.  :-\

I pass by at least twice a day and this is the first time I've seen anyone there in ages. No idea who it was. Maybe someone just passing through, but it sure makes me wonder how the birds know to go to these spots familiar to us.
I think we go to the spots that look good to falcons...

Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10:15 a.m., birdy sitting on the "e" facing west. I kid you not! Kind of dirty/oatmealy coloured breast. Traffic lights wouldn't cooperate to give me a red, but I had a good look (much to the annoyance of the guy behind me no doubt as I slowed to a crawl to rubber-neck).

That sounds like the black/green banded female who's been at the Radisson - the one I think is Sandy (she's not cooperating to confirm its still her).  Her breast right now has this rusty coloured wash over the white feathers, makes it look a light brown, though oatmealy is actually more accurate!

Wow! That's amazing, Cooper! :o What great spotting! I have looked there a few times in the past few weeks but have not seen any birds at all. I thought for sure they had all migrated. I wonder if it's the same bird that you and TPC have spotted downtown lately? :-\

You've had some great sightings, Cooper!  I'm very envious!  And happy to be hearing about birds that are still around!

After days of not seeing anyone in West Winnipeg and thinking that everyone had headed out, I'm pretty sure I saw Jules at the Lookout.  It looked to be a female and I haven't seen Princess for a couple of weeks now and the Lookout is one of Jules' regular spots.  Couldn't see anyone at the Diner so she too could be holding down the fort like Hurricane and Ivy ...

Somebirdy on the "p" facing east this morning at 7:25 a.m., greedily smorging breakfast.

Spotted Jules on the "U" around noon today, on my way out to Oak Hammock Marsh. Was thrilled to see her, as this is the first time I've seen her this year! :D 8)

A fairly large "femaley" looking PF was sitting on the east facing "P" this morning at about 0840h, watching the sun come up and basking in its glory!
