Oh trust me,  we have been urging the kids to show their colours LOL

I have decided that next year I will have either a new pair of more powerful binos or a spotting scope.  OR BOTH   ;D

Nice.  Thanks TPC.  We got a good look at the twins today and Luck is a perfect name for my golden girl.  I was wondering if we knew which one she was.

See if you can't confirm the tape colours ... if they are still there of course.  But if Fate still has his, no reason Luck, Karma and Kismet couldn't too ... let me know what you see if you see anything!

The large one being my golden girl.  Also, she was the one on her own today.

So your golden girl would be Luck - band number 13/X and with green tape ...  the "twins" are Kismet & Karma ...

Re: Fledging Wednesday July22 two chicks had fledged when we got there, the male and a female. we knew one was the male cause we could see the white tape left leg. couldn't see the female legs ,so don't know which one.
Thursday july 23 only 1 chick in nest box,the other must have fledged sometime before 0830. the one in nest box fledged a few mins. after 0830, I saw her leave the box, I think she was the large one, she flew very strongly up almost to the bottom of the tower and around the corner and out of sight

Hey Brandon Fledge Watchers, sounds like you and the chicks are doing great - nice to hear the chicks are smart enough to keep their heads down when the weather turns bad.

First fledge was the 21st, correct?  By the end of the first week (per chick) your gang should well be on their way to starting to chase their parents for prey and pretty much out of the really (really) dangerous part of fledging .... accidents can still happen, but the first 7-10 days are definitely the more dangerous ...

You are SO lucky to be able to get that close to them.  I am jealous.

But, we got buzzed also.  Not quite as close as you but we did get buzzed.

LOL..I was just reading the thread and seen you mentioned seeing someone up there! Yes..it was me..:)...yes..I definitely did get checked out. It's hard to keep the camera in focus when you have someone swooping at you..But I was quite excited to see one of the little ones..so I snapped quite a few hoping one or two would be decent.I didn't want to stay too long so as not upset the parents. They sure are loud!..:)
