Sure does help. It will save me some walking as well :) Will check the forum when I get downtown to see if anyone has spotted her.

TPC read your post of Jubilee and Hart fledging from the front of the nestbox sideways. Would they have been heading in a north or south direction?

Jubilee went more than a 1/2 hour before Hart (just so you know) and she was heading south/south-south-west.  Hart headed off south-south-west, so towards CityPlace (the old Eaton Place).  He's been flying for a couple of days now, so he will be anywhere he likes by this point.  Jubilee could easily still be south of the Radisson, usually takes chicks a day to start travelling longer distances.

Hope that helps

Hi every one, just a small request could we give McDermot his full name and not shorten it to Mac. 2years ago in Brandon we had a chick called Mac who got blown off the building into traffic and got run over, RCF was the one to find him so not such happy memories for us.  We lost both chicks that year.

Thank you Rose.  I agree and there is no mac in McDermot so that should not be an issue. They have their names and we do not want to get them mixed up with other birds' names.  :D

We do have some adventurous fledgers dont we?   And this must be exciting for you fledgewatchers.  Unfortunately, my computer modem keeps giving me problems.  I have a new one on order.  A huge thanks to the fledgewatchers and their reports on the fledglings!  Thank you TPC as well for being so involved with this!   :D

McDermot is back inside on his "feather" bed and Fleet is on the front edge.

Oops, spoke too soon, now some calling and McDermot has joined his brother ...

Current weather conditions in Winnipeg - sunny 24C (high is forecasted to be 27C) and south wind 20+ km/h
Makes for a breezy time in the nestbox - pretty much the first day we have had wind since the chicks first started fledging on Friday ...

Is it just two boys at the box?  There were 2 flying high as I was walking over but I didn't see where they went.

Now McDermot has the food and doesn't know where to eat it without a) dropping it 20 storeys to the roof below or b) dropping himself off the edge of the box.

Ahhh, he has managed to get it on the ledge now and he's moved it away from the box so he can nibble hopefully in peace.  It was a small bird, not sure how much could be left on it though ...

This is hilarious - McDermot is having a meltdown because he wants food.  He bowled Fleet over to grab the food but Fleet wasn't letting go so McDermot stormed outside and down onto the ledge.  Now back in and both of them are under cover and now McDermot is out again and in again and out again ... rant rant rant

Not fair for the poor guy, he's been waiting so patiently at the nestbox this morning ...
I am having fun right now watching this because of it being so funny on how McDermot is acting towards Fleet right now. Since Fleet dropped the food after getting jumped by McDermot they look like they are playing tag now lol.
