photosbydennis:
Well it's that time of year, the first Peregrine chicks have been banded and we have 2 more nest site to band...which means that you will be receiving a number of Peregrine photos over the summer mixed with Osprey just for a change...along with anything else that fly's.

Each location provides a different set-up for photographing...and each pair react differently when you enter their nesting area. As all birds appear to look the same until you have a close look...each bird has identifying marks and call.
This is now the fun part of the year...hope you enjoy.

Anyone wishing to be added to my photo list can email me...it's just that simple.

Cheers !
Dennis
ps. it's also fun prepping frozen nest boxes and removing meal remains from the season before in March...

The Peregrine Chick:

There is a sunshower in western Winnipeg, maybe the chicks will decide to dance in the rain ... usually chicks do this when they are a bit older, but this gang is growing up so fast!  :o

The Peregrine Chick:
For folks wanting to figure out who's who ... the outside-box-cam is the best one for seeing feet now, later it will be the skycam when the chicks are perched on the edge of the box prior to fledging.

The aluminium band is on the chicks' left legs - so the coloured tape is on their left legs  ;)

  red = female
  white, yellow, green = male

bcbird:
Once we see the kids in the outside light and can ID them by bracelet colour, we will be able to see exactly who is naughty and who is nice!

Ellie:
Just checked the cam and it looks like the kids have been naughty and sent to the "corner".  They are all facing the wall. lol    Looks mighty cute. ;)
