Tracy, I was just wondering when the Brandon banding video will be available to watch on your YouTube channel?  Hasn't it been three weeks since Rain and Rosser were banded?  Or is that Eye-spy's department?   ???
I've been wondering that too. :)

The boys must have spent the night on the town, no sign of them in their cozy little corner this morning, maybe they are on the tower with mom and dad. :)

Hey Rain and Rosser, nice little nuzzle time in your corner!!  I see that you have put on big boy pants now and have shed your puffaloons!  I guess you guys will be fledging next week.  Sad for us chick-a-holics but then happy for you.  ;)

I agree very sad for us.  :(
Don't worry folks hopefully they will all be back next year, then we will be able to ooh and aah and enjoy them again just like this year. :)

If you want to see a really funny display of "shplat", check out this video of the peregrine Dot's chicks at Great River Energy, after a truly disgusting lunch.

Absolutely hilarious!  Thanks for posting this, closet birder!

That has got to be one of the best video's.   The one little fella by the camera looked like he was gonna burst .. and the weebling and woobling.

I thought so too. ;D
I thought this was an early video of the McKenzie chicks but oops! I guess it's not. Silly me! :)

Pretty comfortable chick just laying "schplat" on the edge of the wall.  Not a worry!

I think this is a classic example of what you were describing Ellie.   :) This is Kenzie from last year looking totally relaxed and sleeping on one of the girders of the communications tower.

That is such a neat picture of Kenzie. I didn't know birds could sleep like that either.  ;D

Great vid of the schplat babies! And really nice to see that pic of Rain & Rosser Doreen, thank you. Glad they're hanging out together again maybe those transmitters could pass for walkie talkies when they get separated  ;D

You are most welcome.  ;D

Great video closet birder!  I took the liberty of copying it over to the Elk River thread (gave you the credit).  On pg 15 of that thread there is another video of the chicks just a few days ago during a feeding.  If you haven't watched it you must - one of the chicks actually topples over backward on his back!  Looked like a turtle before s/he got himself flipped over.  Here's the link to that thread:

http://www.species-at-risk.mb.ca/projects/pfrp/forum/programs/index.php/topic,2557.0.html

And thanks everyone for the updates on Rain and Rosser and the great photos.  :-*  So glad to know that Rosser made it back up from that black ledge.  I love the white stripe Rain has on his head - it reminds me of Gizmo from the movie Gremlins!  ;D

That picture is TOO funny RCF.  Can't believe birds lay like that!

I took a picture of Rain and Rosser on the wall this morning but it was very dark at 6:30am because of the thunder storm, so I had to lighten the picture. After I was done work I didn't see either of the boys. I imagine they were probably somewhere in the shade trying to stay cool. I did see Hurricane perched in one her hiding places on one of the north windows between the McKenzie and annex buildings.
