Aw!! What a "Mom" moment.  Princess sitting looking down at her little darlings with their behinds sticking out in front of her.  Love comes in all animals.......fiercly protective for sure.

Bahaha, the kids are fed, but looking for more.
Ivy is looking baffled....... where's that woman with food?
This is one of the most wonderful things I have witnessed in my life.
Oh yes, we are blessed.

We certainly are.  ;D

1904 hrs

Ivy playing umbrella with his wings full spread out ... but nor really in the right place to shade his bairns.  It was neat watching them watch him as he walked around them a minute ago.

I am so fascinated with how gentle these birds are with their young(any animal I guess is) but this is mother and son having offspring so would they also have the battle of territory with their offspring if one comes back in another year or so to take up residence at the Radisson?

We typically don't have big fights, some "encouragement" but no real fights.  And we have had sons taking over the Radisson site for 20 years but they have always been when Dad doesn't come home, the son takes over.

Well, another feeding but Princess stood between the camera and the chicks. Her silhouette could be seen feeding the little ones.

Now they seem to be basking in the sun after supper.

Can't see the chicks being fed,- big butt in the way, but Ivy is so very calm and gentle with the kids. Great dad.

Bahahaha, Ivy brought in  a meal but did not give it to the queen to dole to the kiddies.
Don't know how long the diva will put up with this, but yahoooo, way to go Ivy.

Welcome Esmerelda!  They're all here!

Beautiful family!  Must watch them as much as possible while they're so little - they'll grow so fast...before we know it they'll be asking for the car keys!

It's kinda funny watching them feed the chicks, dad gets the food, but seldom gets the chance to feed them, Princess usually grabs the food and feeds them herself, I can't remember, Was Trey chased away as much at this stage of the development?

Yes he was.
One of the differences between Ivy and Trey is that it seems as though Ivy is a wee bit sneakier.  He gets the food for Princess (as opposed to for the chicks) he leaves it somewhere for Princess to go pick up and then he slips in to hang out with the chicks.  And yesterday he took his life in his hands and hopped right into the box with chow and started feeding the chicks right alongside Princess!
