Radisson - 2011 / Ivy & Princess
Kinderchick:
--- Quote from: The Peregrine Chick on July 28, 2011, 23:43 ---...A number of times Ivy was in the nestbox today, don't know if he was defending or trying to entice Princess to pair bond. This is the first time he's done this this year, didn't do it yesterday, will have to see what tomorrow holds.

I'm a bit confused by this statement, TPC. Do you mean that this is the first time that Ivy's attempted to entice Princess to pair bond this season? ??? I thought they were pair bonding earlier in the Spring, before Princess laid her eggs. :-\

I am sitting in my backyard (around Inkster and McGregor) and I would swear I just saw and HEARD a peregrine falcon overhead. Was flying really fast but making the same noises we hear(d) from Beatrix. Very, very loud. Wonder who it was???

--- Quote from: Jazzerkins on July 31, 2011, 09:07 ---Gingerlee and I met downtown around 7:00 AM and stayed around for a couple of hours. Saw three (we think) of the family. It looked like Ivy sitting on the "b" in the Manitoba Hydro sign. Then saw one sitting on the "s" in the Radisson sign. Then another, who we suspect is Bea, fly back to the nest box/ledge and started yelling like crazy. We think she was ordering take-out from Ivy, who promptly disappeared. Then after, about 1 3/4 hours, Bea took off from the nest box and there were no more birdies to be seen (or heard). It is amazing that we could hear the yelling, even from blocks away. Will probably try to go back down this evening to see if they will put on an aerial show for the watchers.

I have been down watching in rush hour times and it is amazing that these birds can be heard for many blocks. There sounds can be heard over all traffic. Luv listening to them.
