She is such a beautiful bird. With her wings spread out, you can see her in all her glory. We have one strong female. When you decide to fledge, fly safe, little one. :D

Beatrix is acting like a rambunctious kid that has some kind of a bee in her bonnet!

We drove east on Portage last week and you can really see the nest box quite clearly without craning your neck and driving crazy at the same time.  As to the former post of yours.........(if I actually read and comprehended at the same time) it said exactly the same thing as I replied to.  Sorry ::)

Thanks TPC.  Do believe that msdolittle was circling where Cade was on the ledge that he loved to play on.  Your picture sure is a great one to put everything into perspective for sure.  You are so on top of everything!  Thanks again.

Must admit, those two look very comfortable sitting there ... if I didn't know how old they were or that Cade had fledged a few days ago I'd say those chicks don't look quite ready to fly!!

Today's weather ...

Currently - sunny with a few clouds, 22C and no humidex
Today - Sunny. Becoming a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon. High 28. UV index 9 or very high.  (will feel like 31 with the humidex)
Tonight - Becoming cloudy this evening then rain at times heavy. Risk of a thunderstorm overnight. Amount 10 to 20 mm. Wind southeast 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low 17.

And the forecast for the next few days ...

Saturday - A mix of sun and cloud. 30 percent chance of showers in the morning and afternoon. Risk of a thunderstorm late in the afternoon. Wind becoming southwest 20 km/h early in the evening. High 26.  (will feel like 34 with the humidex)
Sunday - A mix of sun and cloud with 40 percent chance of showers. Low 15. High 26.(will feel like 31C with the humidex)
Monday - Sunny. Low 14. High 24. (no humidex they say)
Tuesday - Sunny. Low 13. High 26  (again no humidex)

Hope he's supporting her -- not egging her on!

Just a quick check-in to see both juvies sitting on the nest edge.  So, so happy to see that Cade's doing so well with his flying skills that he can come home to support his sister!

Just as a point of clarification, the circle on MsD's wonderful photo is just to the right of the nestbox ...

There are some great photos of a bird on the nestbox from the ground taken by Dennis - you can see it is right in the northwest corner of the Hotel roof - the dark brown behind are louvres - the help reduce the wind so it doesn't damage the roof equipment or make it dangerous to be on the roof.

Here's another one showing the box and ledge and the westside sign as a landmark ...

Wonderful to see 2 birdies in the nest box.  Perhaps Carson may join them soon?  Mind you, the size they are now, it would be a little crowded  ;D

G'mornin.  Great picture msdolittle.  And the circles definitely help us to see exactly where the birds are.  THAnks.  What a beautiful morning it seems to be weather- wise and the fact that Cade is home for a bit makes it even greater.  This is the way I remember the fledging of the Wpg. birds.  Back and forth to the nest box for a few days.
