Who would have guessed that I would spend so much time squinting to look at spots on eggs under a falcon's butt?  Sigh...  ;D

Thanks for much for the guffaw, Teamla!!  That's exactly the truth, ain't it!   :D

I had to chuckle when I read this....I currently have 3 cams open and 2 forums...cat in my lap and tv on....staring...waiting for a hatch at one, mom to get up on another one, and a parent to feed....ain't life grand...have you ever tried to explain this to family and friends?  I don't know about yours, but they look at me like I'm crazy.... :)

Tracy, do you think Princess is on for the night, or will we maybe see a shift change before dark?

while we are ALL waiting ( patiently)..

check out the Great River Energy web-cam. Mom is currently feeding three white fluffy bundles of joy, and the camera is clear and up close and personal.

there is sound on this web cam too ! so you can hear the wee ones.

Tracy, I just want to thank you for keeping the Peregrine Chick Blog up-to-date during the day, too.  I don't have video or blog access at work, so my only updates were checking the CBC page to see what was going on.

I am SO going to miss the hatching...  Hope Pchemist or someone gets good video/pics to post for us!

Thanks again, Liz

Hee Hee! So true!  I'm glad I'm not the only one who's amazed at how sucked in I am...and so invested!   And really, because we know as soon as we look away something exciting will happen and this forum of interesting reading to keep up with, who has time for anything else!?

Princess kind of lifted herself up a bit and looked alert for a moment, so I'm wondering if things are continuing on under there, despite the time of day...

Tracy, how close are they  to the nest box?

This year's nest is on the east-side of the building on a ledge on the 13th floor level.  The nestbox is on the 30th floor on the west-side of the building.  So not very close I'm afraid.

She's pretty wiggly...Tracy, could you go stick your head out the window and see if you hear anything?   ;D

Couldn't if I wanted to SGB!  I'm at the other end of the City.  Heck, even if I was as close as I could get, I wouldn't hear anything from the chicks, too much noise in the downtown area and I wouldn't be able to get close enough.

As for "overaging", that will be easy to spot - they will be abandonned or "disappeared" by the adults.  If that happened, it would cross-fingers for 10-14 days to see if they re-nest.

Think happy thoughts that tomorrow will bring white fuzzies for your all to ooo and aww over  ;D

I don't know at what point we start to worry....I'm sure Tracy will tell us.  I don't think they overage...it would just mean that they aren't viable, for whatever reason..

Princess got up to reach more distant rocks to play with and gave a nice view of all three eggs.  I think we're truly going to have to wait until tomorrow.   :-\

I think you are right...however...I think one or 2 of Harrisburgs hatched during the night...but I think that was very unusual...
