Katya, who's five, had a good giggle a couple of days ago, watching Trey try to get all the chicks under him. She was laughing and laughing as he raised his wings, shuffled forward and tried to shuffle the lot of them under him. It's getting a bit of a tight fit.

Lara, so cool!  CONGRATS!

It's warm enough here this evening that the kids are okay not being covered.  One or both parents are close by.  I'm not sure that they can thermo-regulate (sp, TPC?) on their own yet, but again, it's nice enough here right now that they're okay.  Probably Princess will jump in in the next while.

Sorry if this has been discussed many, many times already -- now that the cam's finally on, I don't lurk much here anymore -- but when did the parents start leaving the chicks for longer times? Oo! They're all standing up, so easy to tell when someone's coming with supper! lol Anyway, I was wondering if it's the weather today, or if they're old enough that they're OK as long as it's not too hot/cold/wet.

Oh, I turned on just in time for a good feed. Yay!

(And btw, I've got an egg in my own basket... I'm due to have my own little one on Friday, a sibling for Katya!)

I'm glad they have those walls of plastic.  The walls break the Windypeg weather.

Would depend on video format, and if the IT folks have said "Nay Nay" to it.  And as Liz said ( baby you soundin HHHOT ) IT tends to find these things as time goes on, and it can depend on how so-fisss-ti-katud you network is, and if your allowed to see the outside world.  Smaller companies will often be a lot more trusting, while corp-rat systems, and gubbermint, will have some laid down rules to live by.

Well I can't get streaming video or refreshing pics at work either!  >:( - But I can get the Hancock Wildlife Eagles cams - ?? - What's different about that?? - Eye-Spy Geek ???  ;D
I think I can answer that, not that I understand it.  Where I work, when I had the internet, one site at a time got blocked as they decided it breached protocol.  It started off mostly open, and then I lost stuff a bit at a time -- I think "they" (TPTB, BB, etc) pay attention to what people are looking at (run reports) and then say, "well,. we should close all of these down."  And then a few months later, they do the same thing again.  And so on...

"Watching the Falcon Cam whenever I want" - a great reason for retiring!  (I am collecting reasons - I should have enough in about a year).  They grow so fast - I look at them in the morning and they are visibly bigger by night.  The fluffball is very cute.  I just saw a "poo-shot"  hit the side of the container.  The accumlation of waste isn't going to be a problem is it? (maybe they will learn to aim higher)

If it's 'streaming' video, it eats up bandwidth and can slow down the network in the company.  In a big company that uses a T1 - no problem, not even a blip well unless everyone is streaming on their desktop.  In a small office using cable which is typically 100MB connection shared with others, it can cause congestion.  If memory serves me right.  I know technology has changed alot so feel free to tell me 'i'm old and things have changed since then carly'  :P

If it's a 'refresh' cam, what you're seeing is a picture that was taken off a live stream and delivered to your desktop.

Ooooh, a Girl after a geek's heart.

You can tell how warm it is here today, for a change.  Not hot, but warm enough that they've been left alone for awhile.  Rain again tomorrow.  :(
Goodnight, carly!
