Oh, that just broke my heart! Poor Trey. He brought in a meal and Princess swooped in, took it from him again, and started feeding the chicks. But Trey then stood on the ledge looking on for several seconds (all you could see was his feet and the direction he was facing -- towards the chicks and mum).
 :'(

At least he got to do a little bit yesterday! Still, poor Trey.

Poor Trey...he no sooner arrived with supper and headed towards the chicks when  Princess swooped down, grabbed supper and began feeding the chicks herself.

Food is here! 2 of the chicks are eatting in the "poop corner", other chick hanging out by the bin.

seems like Trey is nestkeeping by finding leftovers and feeding them to the kids.

The kids just had a little snack! The chuck that was on the ledge earlier that was fed to one of the chicks was left there last night after feeding at about 9pm or so.  I was surprised when I saw it being left there by I believe Trey.

A terrific picture TPC.  IT's so nice to have the sun shining and a warm day.  It's been way too long.

are all 3 chicks in that "chick pile"?

Yup, our little wanderer came back from where s/he was in the shade by the vent in time for a large snack before a short lap around the ledge and finallly a snuggle with the sibs ...

Check out the light pattern on the street below/beside Trey - its the light reflecting off the glass of the Kensington Building - we have another "art" photo in the photo gallery if you want to see how that works ... Incubation Break

Check out the reflections and how close they come to the ledge ....

Yup, all three are.  One is crammed in between the two you can really see, right against the wall.

Waldo is a perfect description for now.  We seem to always name at least one of them something we like, but know it's not going to stick.  No worries - TPC always finds something that we're all happy with, like the Forum's "Missy" getting named Mistral, along with Chinook and Hurricane - winds.

I was thinking the same thing about the leftovers.  You'd think it would start to rot, get bugs, whatever, after awhile.  ick.  On the other hand, they eat raw meat, so what do I know?!  :o

TPC, I was assuming that "Waldo" was only short-term -- that's why I put it in quotes -- you DEFINITELY couldn't saddle one of these beautiful birds with a name like that! For now, it's cute and descriptive but definitely not a forever name. And that chunk of leftovers must have been well seasoned if it was sitting on the ledge since early morning . . .
