Well I considered the old standard - mooning - but for sure I'd get arrested, or accosted.

I am going to take a really good guess at what "helicopter flapping" is. 
Helicopters, when they are overloaded - you see it in war movies where medivac is taking place and the helicopter is in fact, overloaded, and all it can do is get a few feet above the ground.  The pilot tries and tries again until finally (only in the movies) does the helicopter take off....just a few feet off the ground, of course. 
I could be so seriously wrong with that description, but, hey.....

Thanks, Bev. That website is wonderful - informative, scary, the whole bit. I just read a little and will go back and read lots more once I have torn myself away from the fledge watch. It is so sad to see that she died this year. So young!

Early am fledging would be great for me with time difference and all...I nest here for a couple of hours early morning with my coffee...that would be so coooool

one flapping like crazy. off ledge and hop and jump and flap and back on ledge.the goes to far left ledge and is now on drain.the other 2 are at 3 ishWhen they start helicopter flapping then they are ready.

I signed on last year - well, last year   - so I am new at this fledging stuff but ... I cannot tear myself away! I need to get some work done but I am totally afraid to miss anything - good or bad. Are you all like this or am I slowly going crazy all by myself?   totally there like you are...running around here like a crazy woman getting a few things done but with one eye on the screen..don't want to miss first flight!!!!!
