So, am I understanding this correctly. Vesper has not left the westside nest box since being placed there by TCP? And not sure of it's actual location. Is it just under the actual top of the Radisson tower. If so, that's a lot higher than the original nesting site. I can't blame her for staying put.
As far as we know, Vesper hasn't left the box, but keep in mind that it only takes a split second and they are gone, blink or be moving to a better vantage point and they are gone. I can tell you that I haven't had any reports of a downed chick and we live by the maxim "no news is great news". With the wind and rain today, given her past behaviour, I would suspect that Vesper could very well be tucked down flat in the nestbox or on the ledge beside the box to stay out of the wind - it is definitely not something I would think she would fly in at this point, heck the boys are flying in it and they know what they are doing. Remember when the wind picked up on the nestledge? Vesper was the first one to go to the back wall or into a corner and lie down to get out of the wind. Smart bird. I think she is perhaps doing the same thing now - problem is you can't see if she is from the ground and at this point I have no intention of trying to see if she's in the box and risk her jumping out of the box and flying to get away from human presence. So its wait and see where she reappears, perhaps not until tomorrow when the winds have died down. And no, it isn't unusual not to see a chick for a day or two at this stage, just means they are a) moving more or b) have tucked themselves out of sight, both of which are good things.
And the nestbox is on the roof of the Radisson Hotel on the west side in the north corner. If you are looking at the Hotel, it is the light-coloured structure above the "R" and in the bottom left corner of the big dark-brown "boxes" (they are louvres) on the perimeter roof wall. It is 30 storeys above the ground. And for a peregrine, not really all that high, Vesper will be flying and hunting at higher altitudes in a month!
