1730 hrs (local) - Princess is cleaning and just gave the camera the dirtiest look up-close-and-personal.  Chicks are sitting in a pile-o-sun while she is working her way around to the front of the nestbox - looks like she likes to work clockwise around the box ...  If I can, I'll see about capturing the video ...

Tracy, do you ever sleep?!?
TPC has been asked that many times - We believe the answer is ...."Nope"!!!! ;D :P

Tracy has a hard time sleeping, her toes are too small to grasp the branch for too long and she often falls... ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

So nice to see some blue sky!  I don't blame Princess for not trusting Mother Nature yet - still lots of clouds blowing around up there! :P :P

How big is the nest box? The May 8th Free Press article says it's one metre by one metre - but it looks more rectangular than square (but it could just be the angles and my lack of size/depth perception). What portion is sticking out and what portion is covered?

The box is about a metre square, most is sticking out and visible on the skycam, the part undercover is maybe a third of the overall box.

Looks like Princess (?) served dinner and just took off a few minutes ago.

Princess took off, Ivy came in and hung out with the kids, then Princess returned with dinner and Ivy sat on the edge of box for a minute before leaving.  Right now, Princess is hunkered down on teh chicks at the far end of the box but still undercover, don't think she trusts Mother Nature yet ...

1700 hrs (local) - dinner for the family in the box, followed by a little uncovered time and now Princess is back on the chicks but looking out and crouching so the chicks are definitely getting a bit of sun on them right now - we have sun breaking through the clouds and shining into the nest box as we speak.

Hopefully the beginning of much much more drier weather!!

Thanks for getting the other camera all set up and streaming so quickly! :)

This is definitely a different perspective on the family view! this will be great once the chicks start roaming around to the ledge!

Thanks for clarifying, Tracy!  You sure have your work cut out for you - having to keep us phanatics in line while closely monitoring and protecting the birdies.  I really apprciate your endurance and your patience!

Oh-oh!!  Did I do a bad thing by putting up the Rochester website?  Sorry!  Guess I have to study the rules more closely. :o ??? :-[ :'(

You're okay Susha, I moved the link so that if folks want to go there they click on "Rochester".  Generally we don't cross post to other webcam simply because it can confuse newer forum members/guests or those members/guests who don't follow many cams.  Referencing something on another cam is okay, for example, "I remember that something happened like that at the Rochester site" but we have just gotten into a habit (a good habit I feel) of generally just posting about a webcam on its individual board.  And that applies to all webcam boards, not just the Manitoba birds' boards  ;).  Just helps to keep it straight in folks minds.

Hey there TPC,

Hope all is well with you...I am sure it has been absolutely crazy for you. Am glad to hear Royal Radisson Family is still on track.

I know so many have said this before but now I must...you ROCK (and your 'peeps' who are behind the scenes).  Cute play on words dont you think? ;)

Ivy flew in with a meal which Princess promptly took and is now presumably feeding to the chicks under the roof. Ivy took off right away.
This skycam view allows great comparison of the sizes of Ivy and Princess!

Wanted a "chick-fix" so just peeked in on lunch in Rochester

Looks dry in New York!

Clearing here in the afternoon, apparently.  Pretty chilly now.  Princess must be getting pretty stiff, sitting, hunkered over babies all this time!  I wonder - do birds get stiff?   ??? ???

1240 hrs (local) Princess is in the box with her nose stuffed in the far corner.  No chicks visible on the nestbox cam view.  Image is still a bit iffy but mostly we can see to make sure all is still well.  Looks like there aren't any problems.

it's not raining at the moment and the sky cam seems to be drying off. The picture is not as 'foggy looking' as it was earlier.
