...what with the stuttering, every time a chick raises it's back end towards the camera, the picture seems to freeze, and I have a 3 second cringe while I wait to see whether or not the camera will be covered with falcon poop...anybody else doing the 3 second cringe?   :P

I had been thinking that I don't remember the nests being this cluttered and read EyeSpy & TPC's posts at the end of the June 24th thread.

I guess having 4 big healthy chicks in that nest means more leftovers, more feathers, more poop, more mess than usual.  :-X...Plus Trey is such a good housekeeper, and his son apparently is NOT... :o :-\

Ivy having breakfast with the kids. One of the chicks went for a little walk around the nest to nibble on leftovers. Looks like he decided fresh breakfast was better than week old pigeon.

One is looking over the left side of the nest box.  I sure hope he/she does not decide to jump out on that ledge.  They are still to young to do that aren't they?
The streaming is good this morning. No freezing.

Eye-Spy is correct, Ivy isn't nearly as neat as Trey was but even Trey couldn't keep the nestbox entirely clear of debris!  Fortunately as the chicks get older and then after they leave, Mother Nature will start to clean out the feathers etc and by next spring, the box will be almost as pristine as this spring (they had new gravel this spring so it was cleaner in the box than it has been at the start of other nesting seasons).  And of course we do go and check it out at the end of the season and before the birds get back next spring and its almost impossible to restrain ourselves from pulling out little bones leftover from the previous year's meals.

Thanks for pics and updates, everyone. I'm over my download limit for the month, so I have to cut back until next week. :(

Some Evening Wingercising!!  ;D

For those of you thinking it, yes, the nest box is turning into a landfill.  It is an absolute disaster area.  There are things laying just below the camera, and rotting bits of who knows what all over the inside.  Turns out our little buddy Ivy is not that much of a Suzy homemake.  And the smell........ >.<

ah, home sweet home......we do appreciate your efforts, E-S!  If you need an assistant for cleaning the lens - I'll pop over anytime!
