Looks like, in spite of the heat, humidity and tornado danger, three are out of the nestbox.  Not sure - there could be someone against the back wall behind the blur, but I don't think so.  That's probably Green, leaning against the south corner of the box, yacking at her sibs..."I want to come out too, but I need to grow some more and get stronger!  I'm huge, you know!"  Maybe she's just panting and not yacking... ???  ::)

Just got back home after doing some errands. Spent about 1&1/2 hrs. (12:30-2:00 PM) downtown watching the nestbox with my binoculars. Kept seeing one chick hop up on the ledge, then back into the nestbox. Sure was hot down there, with the humidity. :P Looked for others with binocs looking up, but didn't see anyone.

For those of you watching the chicks pant but who aren't here in Winnipeg to enjoy our "lovely" weather ... current temp is 28.7C but with the humidex (like wind chill index isn't enough for us) it feels like 40C - that's 83.7F and 104F for our friends south of the border and about to celebrate Independence Day!

the 40C/104F isn't so very unusual here (for those of us old enough to remember it) but the humidity is unusual - aacck, southern Ontario weather  :P
Humidex reckoning

The humidex combines the temperature and humidity into one number to reflect the perceived temperature. It is a better measure of how stifling the air feels than either temperature or humidity alone, according to Environment Canada.

According to the Meteorological Service of Canada, a humidex of 30 causes "some discomfort," over 40 causes "great discomfort" and above 45 is "dangerous."

The air temperature was forecast to hit 32 degrees Friday and 31 on Saturday.

Someone's showing us her/his lovely chest, close-up - beautiful, strong body.  Can't see the right leg, so not sure who it is.  I'm surre TPC knows - she knows these chicks so well!

Check the left leg and can frequently see a "10" at the top of the band - that's Yellow ...

And Mr Yellow is our lens hog of the minute.  First his birdie backside, and now a view of his gorgeous gold and brown chest.  Lots of panting in the heat.. can't imagine the smell!!!  I guess they don't mind.

City of Winnipeg
2:06 PM CDT Saturday 03 July 2010

Tornado watch for City of Winnipeg upgraded from Severe thunderstorm watch

Tornadoes are possible this afternoon in parts of Southern Manitoba.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms with the potential to produce tornadoes.

These severe thunderstorms will also have the potential to produce very large hail..Flooding rain..Deadly lightning and powerful winds. Use this time to secure outdoor property and to ensure family members are prepared to take action should the severe weather approach.

Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely for severe thunderstorm development and possible tornado warnings. Please continue to monitor your local media or weatheradio for further updates.

Should severe weather approach or if you feel threatened do not wait for warnings to take action..Take shelter immediately.

Should you spot a funnel cloud or tornado...And only if it is safe to do so...You can call 1-800-239-0484 to report your sighting. Please note this phone number is for reporting severe weather only.

Latest satellite and radar data shows convection beginning in the Red River Valley. With a cold front moving through a very warm, moist air mass..Sufficient energy and wind shear exists for severe thunderstorm development this afternoon in the Red River Valley including the City of Winnipeg..The Interlake..And Eastern Manitoba. Tornadoes are likely to develop with some of these storms.

Elsewhere in much of Southern Manitoba..Severe thunderstorms remain possible given the warm and unstable air mass.

The threat of severe weather should end some time this evening.

1430 hrs (local) - the sun is full on the ledge, boys can't have no more shade so this time White made the trip to the box to check it out ... decided not to stay, guess cuz the girls are splayed out on their bellies in the shade inside the box, almost no room for even our littlest boy ...

... got a look at the band colour - Yellow is in the box with his sisters, White is still out on the ledge asleep on his belly on the concrete right below the ledgecam ....

1358 hrs (local) - looks like Red just hopped out of the nestbox (pretty as you please) and ran down the ledge to join her brothers where its cooler.  Green is in the box in front of the camera (and thus my "looks like" start)

Sorry, my bad, Red is still in the nestbox, she's sleeping in the far corner, couldn't see her past her sister.  Guess one of the boys made a quick run down, up, look, over and back while I wasn't watching!!

Are they likely to end up on the roof of the hotel, if they could climb the louvers, or are they too high for that technique?

the louvres are metal, they can't climb more than a couple of feet - Red's jump back into the nestbox was probably as much jump as "can't hang on" ...
