This is just so exciting .  I have witnessed many fosterings at the edmonton site and these raptors are just so amazing in their aceptance of young.
I remember someone on another forum stating that they would never accept a juvneille that has already fledged though.

Edmonton nest proved that  theory  wrong last year and the year before.

Amazing and now thse aprents get to do what God intended. I hope they continue to update us.

wonderful news   ;D   how fitting that they are at the hospital.. and have a better chance now.. and actually that is a much better place for them to fledge than the MEC, which is surrounded by tall buildings and horrible updrafts...

hats off to Hurricane and his partner for fostering the chicks !  and to Mark and his team for making it happen..

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just so y'all know, this is Tessie in her juvenile plumage, she will have lost this by 2008 and looks now like her parents (and every other adult peregrine) ...

She's a beauty and obviously inherited her parents aggressiveness!  Should produce some strong offspring... :-*

The new female in Mississauga is Tessie from the Cleveland Clinic, born 2007, band black/green M/83. She is a daughter of the well known falcon pair Flash and Liberty; they are both gone from the Cleveland Clinic now, but were almost legendary for their aggressiveness towards other birds who dared to stray into their territory.

Another really encouraging update on the chicks posted today on the CPF site:

"Tracy Simpson Reports:

Today has been even more exciting with all three of the hatchlings alert and very animated, all interacting with one another now.  All three of the hatchlings are now very mobile compared to yesterday and responding VERY WELL to fluids and food.  Eating us out of house and home is an understatement!

The young male Apollo is now very alert and aggressively demanding food, but with all of the attitude that we would expect to see.  He is quite willing to steel food from his other two sisters without hesitation, and is quick to voice his opinion and lash out at me after each time the feedings are completed.

Katarina, the smaller female has dramatically increased in weight again and continues to improve in leaps and bounds.  She has transformed from a quiet sickly lethargic looking hatchling and become a very alert, very vocal bully herself.  Energy PLUS!!

Magarina is doing just fine, and has become even more aggressive!.  While she takes food willingly, she is also quick to strike out and hiss at me after the feedings are finished.
Obviously a love hate relationship!  This is exactly what we want to see in their overall attitude and behavior.

I can report with all confidence that the hatchlings are all but back to healthy condition, and should be ready to leave our care soon."

Thanks for posting the update Loriann!  I actually got to meet Tracy yesterday, she dropped by for a quick visit on her way to feed these munchkins dinner!  She is totally a 'mother hen' to them.  Apparently she has brought many eyases back from the brink during her tenure and you can see just how much she cares for them and all wildlife.

Apparently she once slept at the centre for days on end when they had brought in 5 rescued eyases who were in such bad shape, the vet said 3 for sure would die and the other two were doubtful.  She stayed with them 24/7 and every one of them survived and fledged!  Majesty (see King St for details) was one of those hatchlings  :-*
