April is traditionally bring showers, but not in Winnipeg, here it brings big dumps of snow that somehow the peregrines seem to take in stride. We had to dig out Hart at the Logan nestsite when a storm dropped a foot of snow literally “on” him! Would he get off his eggs? Heck no! He just kept a breathing hole open and he was good right through until the storm stopped. All of the chicks hatched no problem, including Jennifer our current Selkirk resident female.
Always fascinating to watch how they deal with the snow though … like most things, food helps!
It does make for cold bed however ….
