just  an update .

I was in and out all day yesterday but when I had cams up I saw no one at box.
And then in the evening in came the TR male. He stayed about half hour and flew off and then came back.
He looked more settled but tired. He closed his eyes quite a bit , but always seemed aware of what was going on  around him.

Then  poof he was gone and another falocn was on perch. By size, I figured female, but the light was funny and when she turned around and went in box , I could not see bands. I kept going back and comparing faces and sweating bullets at the same time(Please be reminded, I have no favorites here, but the T male has always been at box since he came back, so that made me nervous.)

Then she lay down in scrape, and then out on perch and poof ,gone.
Then in came T male again(T for transmitter) cacking and then in came another falcon. I just held my breath, but it was the female. She went around back of him and they just kept bowing. He seemed alert at same time.
This went on for quite awhile. Neither seemed in a hurry to leave.
she eventually left and when cam went off he was still on perch

this morning when I checked in he was still on perch and he was there till I left at 9:30am

I have seen no one since but I am not always here ;) ;)

I am hoping for best outcome here and eggs.

I willpost pictures and slideshow

Peter and I were out at Genesse for 3 hours today.
there are 2 males and a female.

the males are fighting. It did not appear too bad yet but I imagine it will get worse or hopefully one leaves. there were hits and lots of misses.

SGB was taking cam pictures as she knew I was out there.

It helps us piece together what we were seeing. the Transmitter male seems to go to the box a lot. He does not want to relinquish his home

they would soar in and then chase. One kept going to the top part of tower across from nest box. the other one would fly at it and then fly around.
they flew all around the nest area and then would go up higher and higher and then out of site North.
the female stayed right out of it. she would soar off across the road or sometimes go to box.

then a bit later we would see them come in again. I held my breath a lot today. We had our box and were ready to do a rescue if necessary.

I just want the best possible outcome here.
We have to stand so far away but we can see with our binoculars. We drove to several spots to see which was best. But they were all over , so it not matter. the best one is around the nest  area.

We have no control over the outcome. An we may never know what becomes of the other so I am praing no one gets hurt and that the other finds a home somewhere else. I know of a spot

Not so tough, she's sound asleep ... her eyelids are closed  ;)
So that's why she looks so scarey! ::) LOL!

He's wearing a backpack harness for the transmitter.  Probably only weighs about 30 grams, more than that and you can run into real problems for the birds.

Is that the transmitter on his back, bev?! I had NO idea it would be THAT big!  :o I thought it would be a little microchip around his ankle or something like that...How is it fastened on to him? And doesn't it bother him?! ???

Have seen no canoodling on cam but there was one bonding ritual on Saturday. I do not have cams up all the time ;) ;) but I thought the  female should have been on eggs already. they have both been there long enough.

And canoodling is probably off cam.

So I will hope for best outcome .

Great photos Bev!  Sure hope everything is okay!  Maybe the female has been tolerating the other male but not welcoming him with open wings?  The new guy I mean.  Or have you seen canoodling?!
