Sunday October 5,2008

When we got down to the site yesterday it was a bit breezy and cool. It had rained most of the night and I fully expected Radisson to be gone.  We went up to the parkade across from  the Heart building and looked all around but could not see her. We had previously checked out the Ed building but Peter walked all around again anyway. He did not spot her anywhere.
As he was talking to me from below I looked over behind him and there she was.  In a spot I have never seen her.  I must have eagle eyes ::) ::)

She was on the side of the Suite hotel

The building as seen from parkade

Picture of mom from parkade

so Peter went to get us a coffee at our trusty Hortons ;) ;)

I figured I better go down and see her more close up . Peter brought our coffee down to just below the building and we sat and watched her.  Peter says that she has taking up a new suite, :) but I think she is over the moon for us.What do you think???  :-* :-*
she is probably thinking(Can I never get away from these guys)  ;D ;D

I should have known that she would not stay here as Newton Place is just across from her and she can stoop pigeons here.  Sure enough off she flies and proceeds to stoop pigeons around the back and comes back over the top of Newton Place.
There we are  trying to follow her.  As much as I love trees , today they proved to be a pain. They got in the way of me taking pictures
 but I sure tried.

Mom coming out over top in front of buildings and over us

Trees in the way as she proceeds to fly over toward nest building

Beautiful pictures of all 3 moms (you included  :P).  I had the cam up most of the day but was in and out of meetings so I missed her  :(

A few pictures from Saturday night. If you remember  we only saw her at the end and she turned in at 17:15 that night. the pictures are not that great as she was far away.  I tried to get her going into her cubby for the night.
also a picture of transmitter  girl (Miss Edmonton)

Mom flies to ledge facing parkade on dads building(only seen here once this year)

Mom flies off between her building and dads

And finally mom makes to her building right across form us at the far right corner. she then flies off and around and comes to the far left corner.

I guess it is only fair that i post the picture Peter took of me looking through the binoculars.  That is the position he sees me in most now ;D ;D

moms last push to the building

mom only takes a few nibbles and then looks out

Me watching mom(my most frequent position lately)

Mom flies off and overhead (she is directly above us at some points) and  if you look carefully you can see the prey. I know they appear to be the same  pictures but her positions change.  Just giving you a bit of what we were seeing as she flew overhead.

Or she could have been flying off for the last time. we will see tonihgt. the weather is starting to get cooler again. someone told me their migration depends on the proper thermals, and the transmitter girl was still there last night also so...

I am now posting form Wednesday pictures.

I thought you might want to see form our vantage point what you were all seeing on the cam Wednesday night. we had no refresh :) :) Of course our picutres are not as big as you had the cam right on her. I could see her better with the binoculars and I just tell Peter shoot ;D ;D these are at the box

Mom on inside perch

Mom watching window washers(come clean my box)

Mom turning to go inside for a bit

Mom back on inside perch

Mom on outside perch(washers are now on ground)

I have had Peter promise that we can walk our trails every  evening. It should be easier as there will be no stairs.
I think I will have to make sure there is a coffee shop at the end of the trail ;D ;D

It is really lovely there this time of year.
Pictures coming honest. I am marking some tests for my daughter right now.  Being a retired teacher I get roped in every once in a awhile. It keeps my brain going. ;) ;)

How lovely to have seen another goodbye soaring flight.
What will you two do with those well developed walking legs once the U of A visits stop?
