It's up and about now. It was off by itself yesterday for long periods, too, but when food was around it joined the others. Haven't seen any reason for it to be by itself, but who knows?

I see what you mean, Lobi.  It's markedly smaller, and has been in one corner for awhile in an awkward looking position.  Though all chicks are napping, this one doesn't seem to change position between refreshes the way the other three do.
Anyone seen this one up and about today, and getting fed?

There seems to be one little chick that spends a lot of alone time in the corner.  It looks a fair bit smaller than the others...I hope it is doing okay.

Radisson is looking very beautiful in the morning sun perched on the edge, with four contented chicks pancaked in the nest.

I t was windy today but they said it got up to 22. I do not think it was there long but it was probably that hot in the nestbox as they would not feel the wind that I did.
supposed to be a nice couple of days

Nice big feed going on.  Looks like Radisson doing the honours.

Is it warm in Edmonton today?  The chick pile is not as tight as usual.  Maybe the odd one earlier was overheated.

Feeding time - and all four little beaks open and ready. Guess the little one just didn't want to put in the effort to cross the nestbox - rather wait till they all came to him. :)

Three in a chickpile - and the littlest all alone in the opposite corner. Maybe nothing, but I start to worry when I see a little one away from the others. Parent close by, doesn't seem to be worried, though. Maybe doesn't have to, I do enough worrying for everybody!

Boy did these 4 grow overnight it seems!!  One of them seems alert and looking around this morning too, looking at mama sitting on the edge of the box.

7:47 am EST and what a cute little chickpile this morning.  These 4 are so tight, it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins! :-*

The nestbox got really bad last year when Radisson was trying to convince Cassie to feed herself - there was more left around for her. These four little ones don't leave much. Remember how we thought Cassie had disappeared at times when she had just disappeared behind a pile of feathers?

WOW!!  I'm completely surprised that there is a clean house...this is unusual!
I remember this nestbox last year.    :o
