I missed it again!  I was watching her in the nestbox, it looked like she was digging a hole to China, her rear-end was way up in the air and she was working furiously on a suitable hole-size, then I went to the Alberta site, and I guess that was when the big event happened.  One of these days I hope to actually see an egg being produced!

Egg #2 just arrived

Yes, I caught them both together and I got to see the difference between them, too, as they had a short conversation and exchanged places.  So all is right with the World, at least in Minnesota.

Mom and Dad were just in the nestbox together Eli..they must have heard us

She did spend the night with her egg as she was on it this morning at 5:30 am when I woke up!  She won't start incubating until egg 3 unless it gets really cold there.

Our female has been at the nestbox all day, sometimes sitting inside, mostly perched outside on the ledge, and for the life of me, I cannot see an egg.  She is on the ledge right now, surveying her domain - no sign of her mate - and she seems unconcerned about the egg, so I don't know what's going on.

Yay, an egg!     They're a few days earlier than last year's first egg.  For those that haven't seen this, they've updated the website and added some gorgeous pictures from 2009.  They can be accessed if you scroll to the bottom of the cam page.

Okay where did the one egg go?  It either got moved closer to the wooden part of the nest box or god forbid some other bird took it?

Same here....I logged in this morning, went to that cam, saw her there and figured nothing was happening....of course, I missed it.

Figures, I watched and waited - went to meeting and now there's an egg!! lol!  Thanks kitten, good to see our beloved mom finally has somethin to honk about

I watched last night til around 3 and I think the way she acted it was around 11 to 11:30 pm her time

Still there there this morning, eating pebbles and looking like she swalled a melon    Come on mom...you can do it  

Dad just landed on the roof with breakfast but mom seems to be telling him ..she's tied up at the moment.    Lol, dad waits awhile and when mom doesn't move, he takes off with brekkie, she was not impressed..like cant' you bring it in and serve me!  She waddled out up on the wrungs and jumped out of sight!  After all an expectant mom has to eat!
