I am pretty sure the little one has fallen out...I just called Great Energy's emergency line...they are sending someone out to check on the status of the fallen little one.  I asked that they please post something on the main webpage with a status.  It will be a miracle if that happens ...

Let's all send up a few prayers...

it certainly appears to be the case.... I just checked the pictures from last year and there is a photo taken July 3/07 showing 3 juveniles and it says that they had fledged but continue to use the nestbox. Hope he's okay.... and that he can fly back up.

Did anyone see what happened to the 3rd chick?

No - I just checked in and see only two.  I recall someone saying they can move past the camera and be out of view, but I don't know if they can still do that at this size.  I definitely only see two - so perhaps our little boy has fledged!

two hanging out on the ledge, one using it as a pillow (that one is probably one of the females, as there are a lot of downy feathers on her back).  The lens is getting hard to see through, sadly!

All seems calm, and it's amazing how grown up they are looking.

All three are leaning against the back wall, staying out of the sun.  Not much movement, perhaps it's hot there today.  It's certainly hot here today!  already over 32C and not even noon yet.  forecast high of 42C!

Anyway - they are also a lot more adult looking now.  Especially the male - nearly all dark flight feathers on the wings.  Getting close to fledging, perhaps!

And no, last I saw the second egg had not hatched.

Mom just came right up close to the camera and stared at it.  I looked for her bands and she doesn't have any!

Wow, I think I just witnessed the mom hunt.  She was standing on the bar in front of the nestbox.  I heard another bird's chirping, apparently so did she, next thing I saw was mom disappeared with a quick dive down.  Not even 2 minutes later, the mom's back with that little bird for the kids.  It had no chance.

You guys are right - the mom's squawk is quite annoying.

There was two of them standing on the edge looking around this morning.  These chicks are getting ready to fledge any day now.

She sure is, not too often you see here sitting at the edge of the nestbox like that, not since the youngster have grown so much.

just after midnight and big mama comes in to sit on the ledge beside the chick pile. She may be a nasty bird, but she has certainly done her job and protected her young, not to mention feed them and raise 3 healthy falcons ready to fledge. I agree she does sound demented at times but you've got to admire her!

Deedream, I hold my breath too but I remind myself that even if we weren't 'stalking' the little juvies, they'd be doing exactly what they are doing and we are privileged to watch, whatever may happen... eeek, I know. I've noticed the brown under the eye on the one who I think is the male too. He has taken a bold step today and repeatedly perched on the ledge. I'm amazed at the wings on all of them. Remember not too long ago when they only had little chicken wings and now.... wow. Sometimes Im just amazed at the close quarters and the necessity of wing flapping and running back and forth! Take a look at the new slideshow below the cam... Must have just been posted recently, maybe today. I wonder if we are about to switch to the outside the box cam?!
