ahh, the 11:40 train... momma doesn't even flinch, babies tucked in for the night, breeze has picked up a bit, light illuminating mom's upper half and all is good for the night...

And yet again....I missed everything!   >:(
Oh well! This is the fun part...watching the little ones!

Again...we watch, give the token head tilt and awe with an enormous grin on all of our faces.

I LOVE FALCONS!

Four chicks hatched . . . what a beautiful day. Mom is nibbling on a bit of eggshell now.
There's still one chick that keeps peeking out from under Mom. Wonder if it is the same chick that was doing that this morning?

well, I dug around on the 'net and there are places that say peregrines will eat rodents, but it is very rare and usually what people think is a rodent is a headless wingless bird torso (ummmm.. yummy?) with possibly some entrials dangling.

and with that, now I have to go decide if I still want to make my own dinner...   :P

Yay..glad mum is back!  I've never heard of a peregrine eating mice or the like, they don't usually go to ground unless they are juvies and don't know better.

It could be.  But we got a really good close-up this afternoon, from a different angle, and it looked the same but was a bird torso.  TPC will let us know, I'm sure.

OK, mum - 15 minutes is enough time to have a shower and get dinner!

I don't know if I should be worried that it can't get out of the egg and will exhaust itself, or grateful because a parent isn't there to dry it off and it needs to wait.

Not worried but it is kind of weird.  Usually the first few days you have to pry them off with a crowbar.
