And the difference between the first and last was longer than that - there were 2 hatched when I first looked in the morning, and the last one hatched in front of me in late afternoon (for me).

6:43 am was first hatch and last was 18:24 (6:24 pm) so you're right more like 12 hours...sure didn't seem like such a long day  :P

The two right by the edge are working their way towards the feeding, gaining forward momentum by using a faceplant technique.
Oh what a wonderful picture that paints, Baffled!  I sure wish I'd seen it.   ;D

it's nearly impossible to tell size differences if they are not next to each other because of the fisheye lens on this camera.  And the difference between the first and last was longer than that - there were 2 hatched when I first looked in the morning, and the last one hatched in front of me in late afternoon (for me).

Mom (I think) has been playing peregrine a/c for a while, funneling wind over the kids.  now she's leaving to bring back food! ;D

I don't think one chick really is smaller than the rest, although in a previous post I called her/him "the little one."
Perhaps the one who didn't get much to eat at that wind-blown feeding  looked a bit smaller at the end of the feeding because his/her crop didn't expand. Or maybe it was the camera angle.

it's crazy windy there ... really ... when the chicks got blown over if it hadn't been for the lip on the nest ... both would have been gone.    i guess in the wild they would have been gone for sure

No he was begging, he got blown so far away and couldn't make his way back to dad..by the time the poor little mite made it back the food was gone and he cried and begged and he couldn't seem to get turned around the right way...  One other took awhile to get back too and only got one bite from what I could see.  It's so windy, the 2 of them got blown quite aways from dad and the other two at one point got caught by a gust that blew them right onto their backs.  Thank the people who built the box, if that lip wasn't there, they would have blown right out of the box.

I think it was dad who was feeding, he was doing a 'Scout'...seems to be too afraid to get close to them like yesterday..I kept yelling 'get closer' to them, they can't reach that far yet!!   ;D

Then he may have had more food at the previous feeding and wasn't begging so much this time around.

I am hoping that there was a feeding very early this morning.  If you check my posts from this morning you will see that the little one didn't get any food from early morning to when I quit watching early this afternoon.  The parents were having an incredibly difficult time trying to land.  I mentioned it in one post but I also saw dad drift by several times later without being able to land on the bar. Quite a wild ride they have had today.

All born yesterday TPC...4 hatches in 1 day!!  I think he was the last egg to hatch so he's a few hours younger than the rest..like maybe 4 or 5 hours?

No maybe more than that.  Two were born in the early morning, 1 a few hours later and he came last evening.  So maybe 7 or 8 hours between him and first would be more accurate.

Not all the chicks will eat at all the feedings.  And no, the parents don't play favourites and they tend to be pretty good about making sure everyone gets the food they need.

The "little one" is it much littler than the rest?  Was their a gap between hatch dates?

I'm pretty sure that is mom on them right now - she has speckles higher on her chest and a faint crown (a la Princess) on her head, while dad has a more white chest and a darker head (a la Trey).  But she's leaning over so far I can't be sure of the chest markings.  And this fisheye camera means guessing size is pointless.

The food is gone, Dad has finally got them all back under him, but one chick did not get a thing to eat!  I hope when mom returns, she feeds them again.

I don't think that little one on the left of screen did get any food that time.
It looked like Mom didn't want to brood right by the edge where they all gathered . . . and is now hoping she can convince them to move toward the back of the nestbox where she won't get as ruffled by the wiind.
